What to get
What to get
Well, I got the OK for a new car from the better half.
Top cars on my list right now are:
Porsche Boxster (The 911 will have to wait till I have a garage)
Honda S2000
Chrysler Crossfire Roadster
Mercedes SLK350
Pretty much decided that I want a roadster. The 350ZR just doesn't do it for me so I left it off.
Also considering the G35C.
Checking out the Crossfire tonight.
Opinions (as if I even needed to ask)

Since you're already looking at ~30k cars, I'd save/invest money for the next few months to try to get as much extra $ as I could. Then I'd rock a Lotus Elise. You may want to get on the waiting list and put a deposit now though.
If you aren't able to get it and you saved up the extra cash then go for a 2005 AMG SLK.

Well, GOD must have something against the Crossfire because it started to downpour with some nasty lightning when we went to look at it.
I'm no dummy. I can take a hint. Oh, and couple that with the fact that I was at the dealership for oh, 20 MIN and not one damn salesperson (out of 6 I counted with no customers) came over to ask me if I needed help. Drafting a letter to Chrysler Corp now. And I am gonna call and completely lay into the sales manager.
And things didn't improve at the honda dealership either when I looked at the S2000. A fat asswipe of a salesperson stared at me for a good 10 min while I was looking at the S2000. Then as I was about to leave was when she asked if I needed help.
Getting pissed off about car shopping already.

But the negotiation phase is where I shine. They can't break me, cause I'm the one writing the check and I'm not afraid to walk away from a deal.
I got an Infiniti dealership to offer me a G35C at invoice when they first came out, so I don't think I'll have any problems there.
I like the S2000, but for a 2 seater I'd seriously look at used NSX's. I don't like to drive a common car. 2 seaters are fun but I'd feel like a sittin duck with all the monster trucks on the roads.

Dude, don't forget that. The Crossfire is slow and underpowered, if you can wait until the SRT-6 version, it might be worth it, but as of right now the two-seat roadster I would purchase if I had to choose would be a C5 Vert, but for new I'd do my best to swing a Z4 3.0.

It's an 03 with 1100 miles for $36k. Nice deal considering the original sticker was $45K.
Well, they are trying to lowball me with the Audi (owe $19,700, they are offering $17,500).
I'm gonna let them sweat it out. If they want to sell the car, they'll find an "extra" $1500-2000.
It really is a tough offer to pass up even if I have to roll $2k into it

My sister has the 2.5 Z4 and its awesome. Very solid, well built, and the 2.5 sounds like a V8 in that car....honestly. S2000's are a cant miss. But I would wait for the SLK. Reviews can be misleading, but there has been only high raves about the SLK350. 0-60 in 5.4 w/o the AMG is insane. Only the S2000 can hang be in this category. Also the added convenience of the hardtop can only help. Good luck with the decision. The g's a little out of place in this test but you cant go wrong with any of them.
I have driven the Boxster S (g/f owns a 2003), the S2000, and the G35C (6 spd). All are VERY different cars. The S2000 is fun to drive, revs to 9,000 RPM, and handles like it is on rails but the sucker will wear your ass out after a long drive. The G35C sounded great as did the S2000, and had more low end torque. The G35C had more options like Navi and better stereo (they suck in the S2000 and Boxster). The Boxster S, though, is my favorite. Handles better than the G35 (IMHO), has more power and torque than the other two ... plus, like the S2000, is a convertible. Plus the trunk space in the Boxster is incredible ... one in front and one in back.
As for a daily driver, the Boxster wins hands down (again, IMHO).
