I agree. The old IS 300styling> IS250/350 styling. The semi-boxiness wasn't bad for some reason due to the body lines and low center of gravity look. Just never liked the tailights. But you could paint over or tint over them for a cleaner look.

IMO:TL-S>IS>G35 sedan.

IS has those cheesy red reflectors on its rear bumper, and the fog light area is triangular, which bothers me for some reason.

The TL-S wheels and tails are just awful. Its easy to change the tails/wheels on any of the cars but the point is, you shouldn't need to. New G35 and IS350 wheels are really nice.

I just included the 335i because someone did earlier, and now people are making all these CTS>* votes and I was just mocking them. So......

07 G35>07 TL>06 IS>07 TL-S>04 TL>01 IS>02 G35

supposedly they're more aerodynamic than mirrors that are stuck to the corner of the A pillar.

Nice work on adding the poll!

Each car has good and bad angles; thank goodness exterior looks are only a minor part of my decisionmaking (driveability at speed, reliability, good interior > exterior looks). But looking at all the choices, I think my plain stock silver '05 TL is cleaner and better looking than any other sedan, and I liked the original G35 coupe's lines.

Stylewise for me G35 > CTS > G37 > TL-S > IS

Why didn't you add the new C350 on there too?

Because Cadillac took the Art & Science design theme of the first generation, didn't really tweak it much, but rather, paid very close attention to details and worked on that instead, and bam, you got the second generation CTS.

Why is the G37 even on the poll, makes no sense to put a 2 dr on there when all the others are 4 dr, but 335 is a 2/4 dr too. How come no love for the Mercedes new C 300/350 class?

Silver is never a flattering color and handicaps the G35's appearance in post# 17. The G35 looks awesome in black obsidian and the 2G CTS comes in as a close 2nd. The TL-S looks good but not really any better looking than the regular TL....which already looks good (albeit a little dated now, as Moog stated).

Not to mention the pic in post #17 is actually a TL rather than a TL-S. It's not wearing those god-awfugly TL-S wheels, and not to mention it looks like it was professionally shot. Meanwhile the pic of the G35 is a motion capture of the car while it's off-roading, and the IS pic is a little on the small side at an unflattering angle.

Having a bias towards the car you own is natural though. Post a thread like this in clublexus or g35driver or bimmerfest and the results will be different. Exterior-wise I think the 2G TL-S in its stock form looks the best out of all TL gens.

IDK, I think Lexus really dropped the ball on the IS350 side profile...the rear window design, side mirrors, and just the entire side and rear are so fat and unproportional looking. The G has an ugly front end (buldges on the hood...wtf were they thinking) but I think the side and rear look pretty good. The TL is just well balanced all over, and as many have said, I hate the wheels and tails as well, but get the A-spec wheels @ the dealer and swap the tails at for like $100 and bam!

....this TL seems to have caught my eye though...they call it the TL type-JJaber06

Is that 335 coupe or sedan.

335 coupe > * in that list.

As far as sedans go, CTS > * for looks.

Wow-- I'm surprised the G37 is so far behind, and that the TL-S is in the thick of it considering that it's the oldest design.

The 3G, IMO, is like the Legend...I doubt it'll ever really 'look' old. The new CTS is a bit too overstyled for my liking and I can see it getting played out after a couple years. For $45,000, i'd rather have a 335 or something

Makes common sense considering that this is an Acura board. If this was an Infiniti board, then then G35 and G37 would be in first.

These results are skewed. This is an ACURA forum!! I have an IS, so i voted for the IS. And I am not being biased.

Have you noticed 90% of the people in "car talk" don't even drive an Acura?

The Caddy - what are people thinking? Is that supposed to be modern or futuristic?

Infiniti's are getting better, the G35 coupe was stunning at the time.
The BMW sedans are awful. The 3 coupe is nice but the interior is not.

The TL is great but aging, the TLS addons don't improve the car, the S rims are awful. I loved the TL interior...until I saw the RL interior. best Acura ever put out.

Toyotas/Lexus are boring. the GS are tolerable.

Best overall - Audi, but pricey. the new 5 coupes are nice, similar to BMW. Audi interiors are in a different league.

Germans and Infiniti do great stock rims.

Lots of ugly cars out there, but people buy em. what can you do.
I think the TL wins on that looks list.

I go back and forth between my black 06 TL and friend's black IS350. We usually end up parking side by side since we're not going to door ding one another. His is stock with sport suspension. Mine is lowered 3/4" by the Koni yellows in the front and the subs brought the back down an appropriate amount. The 255s made a huge difference in looks on mine.

Back on topic, sometimes I think the IS looks better and sometimes I think my TL looks better. Stock for stock, I have to go with the IS. The wider tires and less fender gap really make the difference for me. IMO, the G35 is no where close to the IS or TL in looks. But then again, most people think I'm crazy for thinking the 04-06 TLs look better. IMO they look sportier with the new fogs, rims, mirror mounted turn signals, and tail lights, but I think the earlier 3Gs look classier.

Quick Reply: Who gets the 10 for exterior looks IS350, TL-S, or G35?
