So they say they wont transfer the points for minor offenses, Im assuming that 4 points is minor (looks like 6 points is major). Does that also assume that my insurance won't know?

Devil's advocate here. What if you are wrong in your assumptions? $400 may be cheap insurance for an almost guarantee and peace of mind. I'm just saying.

Well if the points don't transfer, how would your insurance know about it? IIRC, insurance companies access your DMV records to verify you don't have any infractions so it seems to me if the points do not transfer, they won't know about the ticket.

One question though, even though points do not transfer to your license, does the violation still appear on your record?

Points may or may not transfer. PA DMV says no, but who knows. Lawyers say I would be an idiot not to go to fight it, they say that usually just showing up will bring it down to 2 points and usually you can plead to no points with a higher fine. Which is my plan, just in case PA gets the points. Plus it gets me out of the house. Court Date Oct 1.
