Volvo 740 or 940 w/ V8. The engine bays of these things are huge--a good ol' American V8 drops in with ease. And it's a Volvo. They look absolutely ridiculous burning out.

Check this video out. It's great. Can't help but smile from ear to ear.

95% of the people at the drags this wknd had no idea the Caddy has a LS6 motor and 6-spd manual in it. When I ran in the 12's I had a whole bunch of people who were blown away. I'd say that's a sleeper reaction

Doesn't the bracket time on the front windshield say 13.1? Either way, that's fast for that little thing.

Nevermind, I followed the link. Damn fast little squirts!

I recently ordered an '08 Mustang Bullitt, partly because of its unassuming appearance. No spoiler, fog lights, emblems, or logos. I like it's stealthy or sleeper looks when compared to other Mustangs.

Congratulations. I read an article in Road and Track about that car and it's styling had me totally stoked.

Congrats Terry, DHG is such a stunning color. And those that don't know any better will think you have a V6.

I should debadge my car and get a TOTL (two on the left) muffler.... SLP made it quiet for a reason I'm betting.

Back in the late 80's my Uncle had a white Buick Regal type-S. That version came with the GN turbo V6, but none of the badging or other body add-ons. It was scary fast and looked pretty much like every other Regal on the road. That is was a true sleeper!

I thought that was the T-Type....aka Grand National in regular Regal clothing.

Yep, Buick made a number of LC2 (turbo/intercooled) Regals for the '86 and '87 model year. Commonly referred to as the T-Type, Turbo-T, and even Limited if so equipped. I suppose the rarest would be the WE4 package, with slightly over 1500 produced. Some of these things came in weird configurations like rosewood exteriors and pillowy seats. Some were even equipped with column shifts. I suppose the easiest way to identify one of these sleepers is to look for the hood bulge and dual exhaust. The whistling sound emitting from under the hood is a giveaway as well.

How bout the Shelby CSX

In 1987 Shelby Automobiles created the CSX, or "Carroll Shelby eXperimental." It was based on Dodge's new Shadow ES with a 2.2L turbocharged in-line four-cylinder engine.

Shelby's engineering team added a larger turbocharger, an air-to-air intercooler, a tuned intake system, and a modified electronic fuel injection controller. The result was an engine that put out 175 horsepower with greater torque and better throttle response over the entire power band, without sacrificing reliability.

On the outside, the 1987 CSX got a unique black and silver paint scheme, new front grill, air dam, rear spoiler, and side skirts. Also added were Shelby decals on the windshield, hood, doors, and hatch, and a round metal medallion on the hatch. Inside were a special Shelby boost gauge, sport steering wheel engraved with Carroll Shelby's signature, Chrysler's premium AM/FM/cassette deck, and a dash plaque showing the car's individual production number.

Only 750 CSXes were produced for 1987, and all of them were alike; there were no available options. The MSRP was $13,495

Yeah, that's what I meant.

The T-type my uncle had came with a power sunroof, squishy cloth seats and 215 width tires. He ended up putting wider rear tires on the car since it would send them up in smoke if you stepped on the gas...

The Astroroof option on a Regal is quite rare and desirable. I would love to find an immaculate T with white exterior and pillowy blue interior.

I know what you mean about the 215's. The first GN I purchased shredded its tires before it hit the 1000 mile mark.

^ Eh, I don't know about the Volvos. Unless you live under a rock you know the R's have 300 horsepower. Or maybe I should say if you know enough to want to race it you know what it is.
