the e90 outhandles the e39,
there's an article where in Munich,Germany(where they build the M5) they took it up 10,000 rpms on stock internals and stock everything in the BMW factory.even though though it redlines at 7750 rpms i think you could get easily 8-9 grand out of it.

I disagree, the E39 looks extremely dated in comparison. The E39 is a nice looking car, but not very exciting to look at either. Dare I say bland looking in comparison to the E60.

Was a hot car like 6 years ago, but that isn't to say there isn't a market for them today....there certainly is.

Glad someone else agrees with me.

E39 just looks like a box compared to the e90. Not saying its ugly but plain compared to the new.

I wouldnt kick either out of bed though.

New w/o money as an oject I'd definately have to say a MB 65

Granted the E39 bodystyle enjoyed 7 years in the US. I think of it as a timeless classic.

Styling is subject, if not contraversial. But I could EASILY live with either M5. Heck, the E34 M5 with its 310hp (347hp Euro) is still pretty hot IMHO.

e28 m5, though by todays standards, it hardly counts as "fast"
