what's my car worth?

Aside from kbb.com and edmunds.com, what's the best way to determine a car's worth?

I plan to sell my '06 G, and either pay off the balance or roll it into something way cheaper (thinking e38 BMW.) I also plan to spiff up the car and have CarMax make an offer, though their offer on my previous TL was 42% less than I received in a private sale. Private selling is a b**ch, though, with all the joyriders.

So, I need to know how close I'll get to payoff by selling the G now, but I need to know which resources to check first.

Sure. I'm not asking *you guys* to fix a value, but to show me where to find out the value.

Usually between Edmunds, KBB, autotrader and Craigslist you've got a pretty good idea of what to ask for it.

why not use kbb, etc?

actually those prices would be too high with the lousy economy...you should subtract thousands from those numbers depending how fast you wanna sell...i'd take off $2000 at least if you're looking for a sale in less that 6 months.

think im full of it? i've been trying to sell my car for over a year and i think im officially giving up with this economy! bad time to sell man...id say get ripped off with carmax just to have a sale in one day, no hassles.

when you look at kbb, take about 3-4k off if they decide to give you "auction prices"

NADA or take it to CarMax...Most financial institutions use NADA when determining the car's worth. Private Sales are the best way to get what you want for the car~I only take cash buyers when doing so-yea it is a pain. GL

Is carmax pretty reasonable? I wouldn't mind switching up.
