What is your next sports car that you want to get? (2007/08/09)
I'm currently a 4th year engineering student going on to my 5th year. I started with a an '86 civic at the age of 18, '96 civic, and now I drive my new '05 TSX purchased last year at the age of 22.
The TSX is a great car but the car is just too luxurious for me even at 22years old. I can not seem to get feedback from the car. If I think this car is too luxurious for me, I don't think I'll want to purchase any more luxury car in the near future because the driving experience is just too peaceful, calm..its as feel I'm gliding through air =[ its hard to explain. I just feel like I'm too young to feel this much comfort/quality. I want some excitement, entertainment!
What I am looking for when I graduate is a "weekend warrior" car. A car that is responsive, gives you feedback, gives you excitement, exhillariation, some rumbling, and outstanding handling/precision. The TSX will be my daily driver to and from work.
The cars that I have my eyes peeled for that I should be able to afford when I graduate and start working are:
-2007/08 Infinit GT-R
-2007/08 Toyota Supra
are there any others like these cars I'm missing. I personally do not want any domestics like the 2007/08 Chevy Camaro thats coming out. This is a personal issue related to resale value. Domestic cars just don't hold its value well for me.
the Lexus LF-A will obviously be out of my budget as an entry-level engineer. So there's no point in adding that to my list.
What are you guys currently thinking about on your mind for '07, '08 or '09 ????

I'm looking to buy a G35c in the next year (hopefully, I can pursuade the little lady that I need a 2nd gen G35c). But in your situation -- how about a Corvette Z06? I don't think those lose much in residual value but I've never checked.
How about a Porsche Cayman? JD Power has Porsche ahead of Lexus in initial quality, if I remember correctly. I'd take a Cayman over a Boxster.

I might buy used next go around... Depreciation on my CLS is killing me. So it might be a used BMW, Infiniti, or Lexus... (Acura doesn't offer anything that really excites me right now)... But I haven't ruled out a new car for my next car... Not sure if I'll stay with a coupe or go w/ a sedan next time either...
So my list is (and yes, I actually have a handwritten list at home):
BMW 335
BMW Z4
BMW M2 (if they bring a M version of the 1 series to the US).
Ford Mustang GT
Honda Accord V6 EX 6MT
Infiniti G35c
Lexus IS350 (will there be a coupe version ??)
Subrau Legacy GT
Toyota Supra (if they make one)
And... if Acura comes out with a coupe (or something that they don't have in their current lineup) then maybe another Acura...

In a couple years, after I'm settled back from buying a condo and having a kid....I'll probably look at the Infiniti G35 Coupe, or maybe a Mustang. I really like the Supra and the GT-R but there is little chance I'll be able to afford one.

A) I will be living with my parents...atleast until I'm 30+ yr olds or when I get married =] Free rent, free utilities, and free food. Why not?!? Chinese parents are born on the ethics and philosophy that thy should love their children for when they get older, their children will take care of them. Thats the 'chinese' principle. or i dunno, i'm white-washed chinese so i haven't the slightest clue. =]
by the way, it was my internship at a robotics facility and my caucasian co-worker asked me "Are you living with your parents?" ...i said "yes.." he then said "Good, keep milking that shiet!" ... haha and this guy is like 35+ yr old married..with kids. My boss even came over and gave me the thumbs up.!
B) I do have some minor college debt but not enough to make an impact.

It doesnt make you sound like a prick. Many cultures are based like that.
What is does do is give you a completely unrealistic view of the value of a dollar. Living at home or not...no way you will be able to afford a 70g car. not unless your parents happen to also be rich and helping you.

Even though i would love a NEW car... i will most likely go the way Greeny is. Dont think ill ever buy a new car again. A used 335i coupe or Mcoupe will be good enough for me.

True sportscars are tough to live with as a daily driver... especially in the northeast (we have something called snow up here)...

Everytime I talk about a new car, my brother says "Suze says no"... a reference to Suze Orman who gives out financial advice on tv

It's an inside joke, but it has a bit of truth to it...
You can get alot more car for your money if you buy a "gently used" vehicle... Looking around at the CLS 6spd prices out there, I'm reminded of the reasons why some people buy prefer to buy used... I bought my last car w/ 14.8K miles on it, so you would have thought I knew the deal, but hey, live and learn...
Nobody needs an expensive new sportscar, we just need basic transportation. But we work hard for our money, and sometimes want to reward ourselves...

I'd say for me IS250 AWD because of snow or nextGen Infiniti G35. I'd get the coupe if it was awd and if the mpg was improved over the last. The current mpg for all infinitis is horrible.
I really like the 3 series BMW but I keep my cars so long that I don't want to worry about maintenance in the future.

depends if you want a drop top. if yes BMW Z4 M.
Z4 M in red is DEAD SEXY.
if you want a hard top with a small back seat. bmw 335i. My sister just got a RL but she had it between a RL and 530XI and the major reason she didn't go with the BMW is because BMW dealers act like their cars are made of solid platinum and they won't deal. they say here's the price either pay it or go home.
my sister got tired of them not working with them and went to the Acura dealer. if you can find a decent BMW dealer that deals(good luck) then go with them.

Well you said 07 and up, but if all goes well, I should have an S2k in my garage next month or the month after. Will probably keep that forever... I CANT WAIT
Planning for a 09/10 NSX. I would like to get it but obviously its a lotta $$$, but more importantly, there are some other cars that I've wanted to own over the years when growing up:
I definetely want to pic up an NSX (current gen).
&/or
For some reason, have a special place in my heart for my uncle's 05 3.2TT DSG Roadster. A phenomenal car will timeless, awesome styling. He's contemplating upgrading in a year and a half or so - so we'll see![Wish](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/wish.gif)
&/or
Current gen (06) Saab 9-3 Convertible V6 Turbo - I have a mega Saab craze and an appreciation for their engineering philosphy. Would love to have one
