If u think that claiming a stolen car is BAD than why do u think that taking parts off it is a ok thing for u to do. For all u know u might take one or two things off it and the cops blame you for stealing the car in the first place. DO THE RIGHT THING. call your local PD and let them know of the situation.

So do we have the details of where the car was reported stolen from?

Given the prime cost of parking in the City, I can't understand why the garage management let the car sit so long.

A stolen car has just been sitting there for 7 years and the police have not done anything to come get it?

The car has been sitting there for 7 years and you have to pay for parking or else it gets towed away.... and yet there it remains. Chances of parking lot staff not noticing a car thats been sitting in the same spot for 7 years.... highly unlikely. And it is a stolen title, who knows.

Don't call the police. Didn't you say you opened the door and went inside it? Your prints are already all over the thing, I would just stay the hell away. You can wipe off the prints you left but I believe you can get in trouble for disposing of evidence.

C'mon now lets be realistic, unless the car was involved in a murder not a single law enforcement official will even think about checking the prints.

Honestly I think if the car hasnt had a listed owner in awhile you can somehow legally claim it. This I am sure verys from state to state.

Did you ever read the finders statute in your state? That would be the first place to look.
