I'm partial to the Z but that's mainly due to the VQ.

yellow/black
not the greatest color, I know it will grow on me though, but it gives it character. Now i will need to be more careful since i can't blend in with a normal color car.
"yeah officer, it was a yellow......"
kinda like the only black kid in school can never hide, " who did it?" " he was black...."

We have 2 new Porsches in the "family". My girlfriend just bought an 08 Boxster S and I just bought a 08 Cayman S this past week.
My girlfriend traded in her 06 s-2000 (her second that she has owed). Although we loved the S-2000 there is just no comparison.... I guess there shouldnt be when you factor in that the porsche was twice the cost of the s-2000.
If you want ultimate reliability and fun in a used car go with the s-2000. Neither of one her s-2000's had one single mechanical the whole time she owed either one of them. If you have a little more money to spend go with a newer Boxster S..... simply awsome.
I picked up my Cayman S on Tuesday. I have a big old grin on my face everytime I get in the drivers seat.
I do not think there is any substitute for a porsche. I would be a bit nervous buying a older Boxster with no warranty. These engine problems they experience seem to be a but more common then alot of people think.... when they acur, you are looking at 10-$12,000 for a new engine. Thats a hard nut to swallow on a car you might have only paid $15,000 for used.

brake fluid flush 175 myself
air bag maintenance (hook up to computer) 60.00 pass
alignment $300 $60 elsewhere
wiper blades $70 $25 elsewhere
parking brake adjust $60 do myself
inspection due in april $90 50.00 elsewhere
drivers door entry light $20 prob only a $5 bulb
3 year old battery $210 It can last 2-3 more years, so no new battery
3 axle cv boots torn, replace all 4 $975 I willl check an independant mechanic
rear main seal BEGINNING to leak $1700 again, i will check an independant mechanic
and last but not least......left side spark plug tubes leaking $305. I can do this, so whatever the cost of the parts are.
Sooooooooooo, I call the owner and go over what i can do and what needs to be done. I said 17k would be too much with the issues. He says the lowest he wanted to go was 16k. I told him my number was 15.5k. He called me back later and we agreed on 15,750.
SUITE!!
I pick it up tomorrow

the work on the cv boots and seal alone, I might have looked elsewhere.
hopefully you're happy about the deal. I'll be interested in hearing how you like working on the car...the engine bay aint much of a bay

Yeah, that's not what I would call a "clean" PPI. RMS alone would have made me bail, but at least you know the major issues you're getting yourself into... Hopefully, you get some mileage on it before the RMS needs replacing...
I think the yellow/black is a great color combo on the boxster...
