^^^probably a good idea.
I know when that TL came out I think every other post of mine was just how fucking ugly that car is.
That design was a big dissapointment to me. I made my peace with that turd cutter.

I thought someone would have come up with something else by now. I was getting killed in this thread by the 4G TL guys because I said their car was ugly.

EDIT: I think what hurts the style of the 4G the most is how good looking the 3G is; I would get an 07-08 TL (preferrable Type S) over the 4G ANYDAY (SH-AWD notwithstanding).

That rear end is almost as bad as the front end. It's like the 3.0CL rear end on steroids which just doesn't work on a larger car like the 4G TL.
Kind of a shame too b/c I was really hoping to love the new TL. I loved my 02 TL-S and would like to be an Acura owner again one day... but that won't happen until they change some of their design strategies...
Probably better off. I don't think we need to start any intra-site flaming. They hear it enough from the Lexus, BMW, Audi, Infiniti, and so on fanboys...

My other main complaint with that car as well is the sheer size of the thing; it's simply too big. The 3G TL was/is the perfect size.

man you werent the only one. when I saw the picture of it the first time I thought it was a joke. It took a few days to sink in.
I hated it so much I emailed the Sales Manager at David McDavid and told him that if I ever get close to one Im going to put my foot through that grill.
Needless to say I was taken off his email list.

Funny thing is I stumbled in to that forum beacuse of the "Find New Posts" function combines everything now. It was a thread about RonJon wheels. I didn't even realize it was the 4G section and when I said the wheels were hot but the car was still ugly. Based on their responses you'd think I impregnated their baby sister.

The interior is still pretty nice...why is the navi screen sunken into the dash? Is that to make it easier to see during the day? Doesn't flow very well. The new 3 series has the same set-up but the execution was far more sucessful than what I see in the TL.

The new TL.

Old fart
The new TL reminds me of the switch from the 6G to 7G Accord (sedan). Honda started making minor changes to try to make it more appealing each year. I hope Acura does the same.
I'm not sure which I would consider the ugliest, but on my list are: 7G Accord sedan, 4G TL, new RL & 1st Insight.

^lmao, don't you see the eyes, nose and the angry face? that's what i wanted the car to be like, not happy and hungry.

Someday, an RS6 Avant+
I have to say, this is the best statement about the rear I have seen.
The front, does look better with a body color treatment. But I will say it's like seeing an Andy Warhol painting bludgeoned to death.
Now, the older cars (1G CL, 600, etc...) have to be taken into context of the time. Big bumpers, square headlights, etc... When they came out, they were not considered hideous. the Pontiac Aztec and the 4G TL are both swift and immediate sledge hammer to the goodies..

Its funny how when the tsx came out I hated it, i mean despised it. now i think its acuras best car out, i honestly think its beautiful with a little work to the front.
Ive tried to like the TL and am waiting for someone to come along and dump money into it and make me go damn the TL can look like that wow!! but sadly i dont think anyone that can do something like that to a car is willing to get that abomination

I saw a black 4 TL in a parking lot yesterday and they had the upper part of the chrome insert on the painted black to match...basically the top beak part with just a chrome frame now now.
It didnt help. Still terrible. The front end....the huge dead space in front/rear bumpers, the ungodly fender flares that resemble child bearing hips.
Its just no good.

While I did chuckle a bit at some reactions to your posts, at the same time I think you should heed ggesq's advice and just let it go. We do not need a flame war started by one of our own within the TL section. It's bad enough we have to deal with some of the burros in Car Talk b/c of that other topic... but let's not stink up their forum please.
Thanks

The first MY of the 7g accord was so so...the back of sedan was :busted: but the refresh with the new back end was decent enough. I enjoy taking my in-laws' 06 sedan on road trips.
