I've driven one of these, but it was just a stock 5.0. This one has about 500 HP

Monster Miata's are supposed to be great cars. I wonder how many bodies you need in the trunk to make use of the HP/TQ with such a light car.

Just hearing that little pipsqueak rev would make anyone question messing with it. Like a cat with a lion's roar.

Not much of a sleeper if you can hear that V8 rumble. Sweet car though I wouldn't mind driving it around.

actually, suprisingly, it's a pretty driveable combo. A good friend had one in HS, it was stock at the time, he's now added an SC. But stock the car was pretty tame and well balanced. Don't get me wrong, it could go wrong very quick.

Wow sticking a v8 in that thing must throw off the balance of that car. Talk about nose heavy.

there is actually only about a 150lb weight different. There are 302's out there that weigh 500 lbs, and the miata motor is a tad over 360lbs I believe.

Yep, that sounds about right. I moderate a Pinto forum, and the weight difference between a turbo'd 2.3L and a 302 is about the same (150-160lbs).

I have a feeling with this car, it will be very difficult to get the power to the ground, but very cool nonetheless

When you're dealing with a light car with plenty of power, traction can be a problem, but most low weight/high hp sleepers are made for the twisties, and not the quarter mile. Traction from a dead stop isn't something you have to worry much about, and rwd will help in that department.
