I'm OK with stupid, silly or amusing vehicle crashes/wrecks where people are not hurt, but I don't think we need a thread documenting ways people can be killed in car wrecks-- leave that to the death and gore websites.

I'm a bit torn on the discussion in this thread. I liked the idea of creating a separate "crash thread" and said so in the WTF thread. I did so under the belief that there had (AFAIK) never been any regular postings of gory (i.e. actual blood) crashes on this site. So, I voiced my initial opinion under that base assumption. That being said, I understand some of the sensitivity to viewing pictures of crashes in which individuals lost their lives. On the flip side, I'm not immediately comfortable with censoring for the sake of censoring.
So, all that being said, where do I stand at this point...firmly on the fence, it would seem.

I guess it went so fast it was tough to tell.. but it was the 599 that blew the red light. The driver died, passenger survived. He hit a taxi.. the taxi driver died (father of 3) including his fare, a 20 year old girl. 599 also hit into a motorcyclist who survived.. miraculously.

For example, I'm currently wondering - Why in the hell, if you can afford a 599, you couldn't spend the time and money to learn how to drive the damn thing in a way that didn't result in needless injury and/or death?

This prompted a thought (a miracle that I had a thought, I know) - a thread like this, if handled correctly, can be a good learning experience for car enthusiasts. A sobering reminder - respect the power of the vehicle and of physics.

..but we should have NSFW / Graphic warning on the title and it should be official with rules like no smashed in skulls, gore, etc.. I'm sure we've all seen it. I've seen it first hand.. I have a morbid curiosity but I wouldn't want to be browsing the thread and expose anyone else to it at work or at home, so I vote it being left out.
That, and the driver was Chinese.

This isn't a bad solution.

I am OK with car crash vids/pics... I've seen worse in the Official Car Vid thread stickied in here (seriously, go through that thread, there are some brutal accidents in there. Arab drifting anyone?). For example, I'm actually OK with that Ferrari vid b/c you can't really see anything. Just a blur and part of the impact.
That said, anything showing any details of gruesome injuries or death, anything in detail, or anything like people being run over and killed or whatever, will be removed immediately. If it gets too off track.. the thread will be locked. And if anyone continuously posts those type of things, bans will be handed down.
Lastly... if there is too much cross-posting from the Official Vid thread or the Funny pic thread (or any other thread), we will just lock this topic b/c it will obvious it is not needed.
Fair enough?
I have edited the title for now to a more generic one based on the OP's title. If he is OK with any other edit, we can change it at that point.

Im ok with change and i think we still need this kind of thread just to learn fron other people lack of luck or brain what not to do while driving so i guess i vote for change of the title thread... i never meant to make fun of those who lost their lives and i feel terrible watching some of these but you learn on that too... how to behave behind the wheel etc... whatever you guys think is appropriate
