I have heard that by removing the stock a/c unit and replacing it with a swamp cooler you save yourself the drag on the crank pully. thus freeing you 5 hp.

this is what i was told.

Why not just modify the hood like an sti if he wants to do top mount.

I'm not super smart, in fact far from it, but I would think that would actually reduce air volume going through the intercooler if it flared the other direction there may be some benefit but as is I am doubtful.

I wonder how the hot air will get away from the intercooler, seems like it would just be trapped in the duct and make things worse
