a friend has a 2000 Acura CL 3.0/6 AutoTrans

im looking for a forum where we can find intel on his car

transmission is slipping in all shifter positions,
reverse seems okay.
maybe the clutches are worn?

is there a good valvebody / shift kit for this trans?


if i at least knew if 2000 was a 1st or 2nd gen,
i would know where to look

3.0L is first gen... There was no 2000 MY (Model Year) CL... Just like there hasn't been a model 2004,2005, or 2006 CL

i wonder if who he bought it from lied

they havent finalized the paperwork..

or maybe he said "2000" 'cause it has a nice ring to it.

the VIN is 19UYA2258WL013642
im not sure if the round figure is an o or zero.

can someone here tell me more about the car or direct me somewhere?

go look at pics of the first gens and second gens, that should give u an idea of what it is. but there was no 2000 CL.

Not the full report, but it tells you it's a 1998 ACURA 3.0 CL
I personally wouldn't buy anything from anyone that says a car is 2 years newer than it is. It also says there are 8 records on the car. You may want to post that VIN to the carfax request thread.

 

Googling for the vin number sometimes turns up some iteresting stuff... and will give you the link to the free carfax lookup...

I like it when people post a carfax request with just a vin, and without asking, you can figure out what make/model/year they are looking at
