What does everyone think of the BMW X5????
I saw a really nice black one with chrome wheels. Does anyone have in info on the X5........price, performance, downfalls etc.....?

the 4.4 and 4.6 are simply amazing. its one of the best SUV's out there, my friend loves his 3.0 much more than he thought he would. i guess by now you can gather my opinion on the X5 but its also been praised by just about every car mag out there. everything from the best crash test results to most sport car like feel. it was a good idea for BMW to make the X5.

as for price and downfalls, i think the only downfall may be the price but it isnt as bad as some Bimmers.

They are awesome, I hate drivin SUV's, but the X5 is the only SUV that i would actually get. They drive like sport cars!!
I've driven the 4.4 and the badass 4.6, both are awesome and have tons of power.
the 3.0 starts @ 45K, 4.4 starts @ 50K, 4.6 is 65k and like a year wait.

They are cool, but stupid at the same time.....the X5 has very little cargo space for an SUV and while they are quick, they still don't handle like a nice car (good amount of body roll). Why go out and spend $70k on a 4.6is with ridiculous 20in wheels, when you can have an M5. Same goes for the X5 4.4, for the money I would rather get a 540 6spd. Its not like a 5series is any less practical than an X5.
I just don't see the point in spending $60-$70k on an SUV.

SUVs do suck but the x5 doesnt exactly...
But it is basically a 5series wagon with bigger wheels. Its not exactly roomy either so i'd put a lil more and get a m5 or atleast a 540.
oh ya.. its almost the best looking suv out there
