Sport Hybrid SH-AWD system:

I actually thought I was going to leave the Honda fold likely for a Lexus BEV (battery electric car) but now I'm getting pulled back in because of the potential combination of an Acura BEV with SH-AWD with 50/50 weight balance, easily achievable in a BEV. I only looked into the Sports Hybrid SH-AWD this week and it seems like a very well engineered system. Alex on Autos gave the RLX Hybrid A- in handling and an A+ on ride quality and that vehicle is big.
I have until 2025 to decide (my Honda's and Toyota won't die lol) and by then, there will be a smorgasbord of German BEVs available. Toyota/Lexus announced six global models but so far for Honda, it's been the cute Honda E EV and perhaps the Honda Sports EV:

Upgrade to wider high performance summer tires and it'll outrun and outhandle a BMW M5. Or so I've read.

If Honda wants to catch up in the premium to luxury market segment, it better equip some of its Acura BEVs with the electric SH-AWD system (similar to the one on the NSX, hybrid RLX and MDX), make the cars RWD-biased and put in a close enough 50/50 front/rear weight balance and hopefully get the grill right this time -- smaller and slimmer like in the next gen TLX.
Good to know the Honda E will be RWD so all hope for me is not lost. I can wait until 2024/25 but by then, I will definitely get an AWD BEV, preferably with torque vectoring. I'm being patient than most members on Acurazine lol maybe because my Honda ICEVs and Toyota hybrid won't die.
