What do you think of....
I test drove a 2006 300c this afternoon. It's a one owner car and has the sunroof, upgraded (Boston...) stereo and xenons. It's a local trade in and has 50K miles on it. The car is mint inside and out, drove like new. The dealer is asking $14,900 for the car and the trade in value on KBB is $14,500.
The car's been at the dealer for a while and they just dropped it from $16,900 to $15,900 and now is at $14,900.
What do you guys think of them? I never thought I'd be looking at one of these - anyone have personal experience with them?

Thanks in advance.

Vas, I considered one before I got my Type S. I like the grill on it. It looks kind of plain-jane, but you can mod the 300's a lot. Is this a 2nd car possibly? I can't speak to the pricing.

i didnt know the RL hood was that big
I dig em.
And I like the "enclosed" atmosphere and the gun-slit windows.
340 HP ain't bad either
Much of the underpinnings are straight from the E-class, and you can't buy a 2006 E-class in the low teens, so I think it's a fair value.
I've driven lesser 300's, both 3.5L and 2.7L, and they are solid cars. I like the looks a LOT more than the Charger, that's for sure. (but I love the Challenger)

Even if that's true, it can't be taken as a blanket statement across the board....I mean clearly a lame-o rental Sebring or a base minivan isn't gonna hold the same percentage of MSRP as a Hemi 300.....
Galves wholesale is about $12k
Just took a peek at the auctions to see what they are selling for, and they are selling anywhere between $12k-$14k, aproximately. If you pick it up anywhere in the $14,000-$15,000 ballpark, it's a fair price, IMO.

trying finding a SRT Jeep, those things are holding their value and becoming hard to get, if you find one and dont snag it, its sold within an hour to someone else.
I like them. When it came out, there was nothing like it. But it has been modded too much, so seeing one plain is nice (not that many here).
I'd say haggle a bit. Get it under $14K at least.

Experience:
My mother-in-law has one and had a couple of problems with it; one where she couldn't start the car. The dealership fixed both problems under warranty. Other than that it's been a solid car. I drove it when it was new and although she has the clothe interior I like it. It came with deep dish 22s and you can really feel how heavy the car is when accelerating and braking.
Price:
I'm with Shoofin. It's in the ballpark, but they probably have negotiating room on. I'd start at 13.9.
Opinion:
This is a car that grew on me over the years. Then after I started liking them every other car on the road was one. Then 3 out of 4 had big wheels, custom grills and other chrome knick knacks that made the car look cheap. I still like though.
BTW:
That grill is ugly imo. I'd go back to the OEM if I were considering buying that car.

I started looking for either a 04-05 MDX under $16K or a 03-05 GS430. I saw the Chrysler on craigslist and just wanted to drive it to get a feel of what the hemi is like. I've always liked the look of them.
I guess my number 1 choice is the MDX but I may have to wait until spring due to the lack of decent used ones in the area.
That's funny. My friend that was with me has a 2006 Sonata LX (V6, leather, etc) and he was extremely impressed with the 300c.

Take it for a nice long test drive, and if you like it, that's not a bad price. IMHO, you'll be getting alot of car for the money.
The GS430 is also very nice car, I had one for about 5 years (GS400) and it was solid. The stock suspension is a bit soft though and they do have front control arm issues.

After valeting a million of them, I'll say this, then can look real nice, they drive pretty well and I think they have style. On the other hand as mentioned, the interior is a bit cheap, but I wouldn't say really cheap, seen much worse cars. I'd probably only get on with a hemi or an srt8....if I had the money to justify a fairly impractical car.
Besides the way the 300c looks, for a car in that class I go with a town car or a caddy, mind you a newer caddy, the old ones had way worse fit and finish than a 300c and yeah I've driven a million of those too.

If the Lexus had fold down rear seats, it would be a HUGE win for me.
I also had a GS400 (1999) and I loved the car. I only had it for about 16K miles but enjoyed it very much and didn't have any problems with it.

eh Ive driven one before... it wasnt great... kinda slow... gas mileage wasnt impressive... and it drove like it was bulky... nice looking car though I dont know if the newer ones are better or what since the one I drove was like 4 years ago.

in a variety of ways. Regardless, I'd NEVER pay that much for a 2006 Chrysler (or any Chrysler, actually).

Claustrophobic.
