How could I forget.... at one point I wanted an LGT more than an S2000! Great car, the longblock is the same as an STi's so it can be built to some serious power if you're serious about it, plus its fun to drive, and its fast.

And I highly recommend against driving an ITR to college, unless you got some balls of titanium. I for one don't have the testicular fortitude to park an ITR in a college parking lot for hours at a time.

As for a Celica, I recommend a GTS. The regular GT Celica is ultra slow. And the Prelude backseat sucks ass.

This is only helpful if you can do your own work. $60/hr is still $60/hr

Id get an appliance. Something that you put oil and gas in and it runs. Something you dont need the best tires, best battery or best anything on. A toyota compact or something.

My PT GT just ran me $1060 in normal wear and tear items just because I dont put shit products on it.

I own a CL... the values on those have dropped like a rock... but it was discontinued in 2003, so it'll take a couple years for the RSX to see a similar drop in deprecation... Which will coincide with the time that the OP gets out of school and needs to get rid of it...

Some posted one from the Mid Atlantic that had 20K miles @ $15K or so... That would be a nice upgrade from a RSX or Civic and would cost about the same...

Yep, a "baller on a budget" car can wait till after college... Like Lauren says, an appliance would be a better choice...

i guess it must be just area value than..........because cl-s, or rather cl's in general are holding value pretty well including the first gen.

I still think it's stupid to spend all this money on a car that is going to sit in a parking lot most of the time.

There's no reason to go home except holidays. Your parents can deposit money in a joint account for you. Learn to do your own laundry. Once you live on campus you'll realize drunk bitches with nothing better to do is far better than sitting at home with whatever friends you have left there who were too lazy/stupid to go to college.

Do what you want but I think you're making a mistake. You probably won't put more than 3k miles on the car during the school year.

actually that is a good idea =). maxima is always a good choice since u get a great working motor for a very decent price =). although i would prefer and 03+ v6 accord coupe =). Also you will be able to sell it off at a good price due to the low depreciation on hondas =).

5.5g maxima is a great option.

255hp + HIDs ftw.

but i don't think they're that good with gas mileage.

i never said he was...i was just saying ur situation isn't always the case. and even a commute of 30-45 minutes can add up when you're making multiple trips throughout the day.

way to take offense//pull the "did u read the original post" card.

LOL, take offense? Seriously man. You took a case that was very specific (this guy's particular situation to which I was commenting) and made it a broad generality.

You said that if you're going to college...ur not even going to put 3k miles on your car during the school year. All i said was that it depends on if you're commuting or not. And you call it the making of a "broad generality". Yeah, i guess they didn't teach you how to synthesize information and think external factors into account.

"I swear to God, Gen Y scares the living shit out of me." Uhh..yeah, way to generalize, mr. "Gen Y scares the living shit out of me."

i still stand by my suggestion! haha... and they are pretty damn reliable too (just dont ask me about my 1st car: the 2000 maxima SE)

Red face

I say a leg GT like this one.....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2005-...em350024150640

Or this one from a dealer in Naperville.....

http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...eadExists=true

A dealer will take a trade, and you can talk them down a little. The best of both worlds, a reliable gas saver....Fun to drive....And it does not scream "steal me or fuck with me". Just my

Boxer motors are pretty reliable

From what I have heard, and my friends have told me (they both have 2001 Leg GT's), pretty reliable, no engine issues. I guess it has to do with the boxer motor.

If my job keeps me here another 3 years, I'll have a first hand report for you in 2 to 3 months.

Lancers are pretty sweet. one of my ex g/f had a Lancer I think a 04 or 05 she didn't have any issues with it. it was like this when i drove it.
It's above like the power of a "normal civic"(like LX or EX) but not the power of a Si.
Now i'll be first to admit a Evo with bitch slap a Si. but a Evo your talking serious bucks more.

Why don't you stick with the TL ? Just get another one. I've had a '99 TL and now I'm thinking about getting rid of my '03 TL-S to get a '04 new body style ... I' m in your shoes too ( college student ). But for some reason I can't live with the idea of saving money and driving a Civic ... Wanna buy my S-Type ?

I like the new 4 door si. Umm, how about a Honda Fit and drop a k20 or k24 in the fit.
