What to buy for around $25k??

So here are the key details that I want:

-Must be relaible or warrantied!!
-Must have a good fun to drive factor
-Must have leather, and the usual creature comforts, power everything, yada, yada, yada,
-I would really prefer either RWD or AWD, but will consider FWD if the fun to dive factor is present.
-Must be a manual or a good auto with some sort of tiptronic feature
-Must have under or aound 50k miles.

That is about it. The main things that I am looking for is the fun to drive factor and the relaibility factor. I would like a 2-door, but wouldconsider a 4-door if it is not too oriented around a grocery-getter.

Some cars that I have thought about to give you an idea what I have been looking at:

2001 S4
2001-2003 CL-S. I would consider an auto if it were supercharged (I have already put in a message to Red Rider)

I like having a car that you don't see EVERYWHERE. For instance, I do not want a mustang or a camaro. Other than that, I would prefer to buy used.

So, what would y'all recommend??

To be more specific on fun to drive factor, I want a car with decent power to begin with. Furthermore, it must handle better than your mom's buick.

Also, I want something with a little bit of class. For instance, I do not want an integra or civic, but would consider an S4 or CL-S.

Those are some hard priorities..............if you're looking for reliable, I'm not sure if I'd look at an 01 Audi twin turbo.........

Supra? I'm sure you could get a really nice one for 25k......

You want a 2 door, S4 is 4 door and I'm not sure if it would be a good idea with that turbo.

You prefer RWD, CL-S is FWD.

I recommend 540i, but I'm biased. It has the best of both worlds and it's a ton of fun to drive. Most of the time I forget about the 2 extra door. My friend just bought one after driving mine. I'm not sure if you can find one under 50K miles for under $25K though.

You might be able to find a used Boxster for a little more, 2004 Pontiac GTO?, CLS, used Lexus GS, used Infiniti G35...

2004 TSX 6MT- not fast but fun to drive
2004 G35- may be able to find one for your budget, though the TSX has a better interior.

If reliablity is important to you forget anything European.

Yeah, I have heard good and bad about the S4, but I can get it with an extended warranty, so that is ok.

Reliability is important, but if I can get an extened warranty, then I would consider just about anything.

The TSX is a great car, but does not have enough power in my opnion.

I would love a 540, but I would be hard pressed to find a clean one in my budget.

I test drove the goat last week and was really unimpressed. I would go with an F-body instead. The car felt like a pig and it wasn't very fast at all.

I wouldn't consider the TSX fun to drive. It's a good and reliable car to get from A to B though.

My friend just bought a 97 6 speed with sport package with 65K miles for $17,950. Update the taillights, headlights and front bumper and it looks just like a 2003. Only thing that's a problem is the radiator, but they make good aftermarket ones. Buy the extended warranty and you're good to go until 130K miles.

Yeah, the 5.7 goat is ok, but nothing to shake a stick at. Plus, I think that it has not style at all.

The TSX handles great for what it is, but suffers severly from a lack of power.

I think I would take the TSX for every day drivability over the CL-S, but I loved my CL type S. I'm sure it's a great and fun to drive car as a 6 speed.

I've been looking for an S2k. It is hard to find a real clean one though and have it be Honda Certified.

you can buy an extended warranty, but will it be worth your time to potentially be in the shop every other week? I've heard bad thingsa bout Audi. Great interiors though.

I guess you and I have different understanding of reliability, to me it means NOT having problems and going back for unscheduled maintance. Extended waranty is just a band-aid- IMO.

I agree the TSX is not fast by any means, but it is a fun car to drive despite that(with a 6MT)- install a comptech rear sway bar and you have a very fun to drive reliable daily driver.

WRX is a good option as well! If you can deal with the quirks of a Subaru they are great cars.

I completley agree with you about the fact that a Warranty is a band-aid. But, if it is a fun enough car to drive, then I would be willing to put up with the unscheduled trips to the dealer for the fun that the car provides.

I agree that the TSX is a fun car and handles great. But even great handling can not make up for the lack of power.

The WRX is also a great car. I have been looking into getting a used STi.
