I've been researching both TL and G35 sites, and I see more little problems in TL sites than G35 sites.

I drove both, and G35 is freakin fast. BUT! I do LOVE the Voice/Navi/Blue systems.

Help me out!

I tried both cars as well, the performance are about the same, but in the looks department interior/exterior the ACURA TL totally owns the G35. But the comparison I'm making is with a G35 berlin, if ur talking about the coupe then that's another story.
But any choice you make between the two cars will be a good one anyway. Both great cars!

go with the dealer thats closer when you need repairs, if they are both same distance , personally after all the shit i went through on my 00TL and seeing that some of the 04 and even 05 guys are already having TL problems too, id go infinity for reliability, looks wise the TL is hotter and thats about it. IMHO

good point about choosing a vehicle close to a dealership from where you reside. but since your from LA....get the G35 coupe !! considering your age...the G 6MT is alot more sportier.
both are really great cars, thats why you see more of them on the road.
its what you prefer. different style and feeling when you compare the driving experience. personally, I love 4-dr sport sedans... E500 sedan or M5 sedan in acouple of years (used).
and yes, the TL has a much better interior and electronics.

If you want a sedan, go for the TL

If you want a coupe, I'd say go for the G35, unless you'd prefer to go with the Z, which IMO is the better value.

Assuming you're talking about the G35C, I'd say its a toss up. I definitely feel that the 04 I test drove was faster than the TL. I also felt that it was more fun to drive. However, I think the TL looks better (with the body kit), has a nicer interior, has cooler toys, and is cheaper (when you add any decent options to the G). I decided to go with the TL.

Not to mention, i'd bet the G35 will get a total redesign within the next year or two, while the 3rd gen TL is still relatively new. A TL has more "new" time

true P2G,

actually though I felt that the TL was the "zippier" car... but that was in comparison to the G35 sedan. It definately had the fun factor going for it as well.

but you know what they say about opinions...

What about the interior noise level of both cars? I know TL is quieter than G35.
But is the difference really big??

I drove G35 once for one day and TL for only 5 minutes. I only remember that TL was smooth, very attractive navi and that's it... In one day test-drive, G35 IS noisy but love the handling and performance... It's SOOO hard to decide to choose one b/w them. I want performance and quietness at the price range.

Which one will get better point in average only in the two factors (performance(handling..) and quietness) only b/w the two cars?

Most including me feel that the cars are pretty close overall. Most of us here chose the TL. Based only on your 2 points IMHO the G35 wins by a very slight margin. You said between these two cars only but why not just get a Mustang GT if those are your only concerns?

The g35 sedan is only a little louder inside than the TL. The coupe on the other hand, isnt quiet. Looks wise, its a toss up. They both look good because they have distinctive characteristics. If you get a 6mt g35 sedan, you get 298 hp. The interior is totally revised and is really comfy. You cant go wrong either way. I guess it all depends on if you want a fwd car or a rwd car. If it helps any, i got a g35 instead of a TL when i traded in my TL-S

If you don't plan on buying the G35 coupe, then TL is much better, but I have to say that the G35 coupe is a sweet ride. As far as g35 sedan goes the TL is much nicer in every way.

the fully loaded price differences for 5ats r bout 3 grand apart tho the tl is the greater buy... the reason the g35 had less problems this yr cuz its been on the market for bout 2 yrs, the tl is fully redesigned and acura hasnt figured out all the nooks and cranies out yet.... if u get the 05' model tho, the tl is alot better with the tire change and so on!!

TL

It sounds like you and your friend got the 1st FX and G35 :gheyfight:

Jhan1112, you shouldn't base your decision to other peoples experiences. Go ahead and test drive both cars check for pros/cons base on your test drive. Give yourself sometime to make a decision because both cars are GREAT!!

I got a 04 model near the VERY end of its second year of production... hers was mid 04 year....

But, I agree with ClnOB... test drive both... you will deff. hear the same stories about the TL from some people... of course on this forum you will get very biased answers towards the TL... Personally I think the interior is MUCH better than the g35 (although I hear they fixed up the 05 g35 to be a little better)... the exterior styling of course is subjective also... I personally like TL, unless you are talking about the coupe... the g35 coupe is awesome.

Good luck! let us know what you think of both cars....

The G35 Coupe interior was too bad for me to overlook. And also, I was a bit impartial as to whether I wanted a sedan or coupe, but the G35 backseat is just plain useless.

The TL will give you slightly worse performance, slightly worse handling, better interior, more/better features, better price, better exterior, and much more room. All IMO, of course.

I am sure this has been answered later, but the G35 does 5.6-5.7 in other tests.

I disagree. The G35 has better looks, IMO, and has a backseat, if for nothing more than storage. They are both fairly close to the same price. I just like having the opportunity to have four people in my car half way comfortably. Obviously, though, I'll take a TL over a G35(especially coupe for 4 doors), for the much nicer interior and technology. Of course, if all things being equal I'd take a RWD car over a FWD car, but that's not the case. The TL, overall, is a nicer, more refined car. Test drive them both, to see what better suits your personal taste. Both are GREAT cars.

I posted this topic a while back cause I had the same problem. I test drove both, researched both ... but in the end I picked the TL cause it had beat the interior of the G35 hands down. The G35 looks great on the outside, but the TL with the full A-Spec package ... I couldnt say no. Anyway, it all depends on what you're looking for and what you like in a car. Good Luck with this and let us know how it ends up

Its like a sports car. It handles like a dream so of course suspension is stiff. If you want a soft ride, then get the g sedan or tl
