Well...the S2000 needed more doors, more driven wheels, and a lot more torque...

Or I'll just wash it and the S2000 this weekend since it's supposed to be hot AF outside here.

No chance there, she'd see it the same as an Outback (wagon) and nix the idea quick.
Plus, with 2 car seats, we want to keep 3 rows.

Wow what a beauty! I haven't been on AZine in months so I'm just seeing this now. LOVE the color. I personally think those stock wheels are the teets, but wheels are such a personal choice.

Thanks man! The color is the best one for the Golf, I love it. The wheels, meh. But I'll eventually get new ones. Rest of the car is worth it lol.

So I tried launch control for the first time yesterday since I'm now over 1500 miles...and I almost pissed myself. I know there are a lot of cars on here that are much faster but this is easily the fastest accelerating car I've ever driven. As soon as it drops the clutch, the acceleration is quite rapid and the gear changes are fast enough that the turbo never loses boost. It's awesome. I'm in love. Anyone want a S2000?

Sure, I'll take a free s2000.

I think Majofo made it it's a gif, and it's on the last page of the "Texas shooting" thread in ramblings... It went from guns to a discussion on Chad
And I'd do two things with the s2000:
1. Drive it for a maximum of 30 minutes at a time before my body starts aching.
2. Sell it for profit, after getting pissed off I can't drive it more
Or 3... Stretch the frame by 1.5"... Then I'll be good to go

Can confirm - even the 6MT Golf R launches VERY well with launch control.
I can't even imagine the consistency of DSG

Tell you what. Give me $22k for this apple on my desk and I'll throw in a free S2000.
Looks like it. I drove them back to back the other day and it really confirmed my decision. I'll be picking up a Wrangler next for more top down and door off shenanigans. I'd rather have something that's nowhere close to a performance car to have different kinds of fun with.
Yup. It's a party.

I can fit vertically... even with the hardtop, my head still clears. It's the length of my legs that is the problem. They're in so much of a bent ^ shape that they hit the steering wheel and I can't turn the wheel more then like 1/3 way in each direction. If I sit awkwardly enough, I can make it work, but as mentioned, for like 30 min at a time only. I need to stretch the cabin horizontally...
cant be that hard. I have access to a welder and some sheet metal. What's the worst that can happen?

Tell you what. I'll upgrade you to the fresh apple for no extra charge. S2000 still free at that price.
Yeah man, it's tough to let it go since the car is so much fun but so is this:

Not the vehicle for it, and my girlfriend would LOVE to have a rock crawling jeep so I see it in our future at some point...
last weekend she made fun of me for keeping the Yukon too waxed and cleaned (did a full clay and wolfgang treatment on it)...
so I finally said fuck it and showed her what's what...
Figured you'd be proud of me...

Super small update. Apparently the car comes with these new key fob ring things that I discovered in the glove box. Got them installed.

I don't know your life...and I know your rationale makes sense.
I would urge you to give it some time, Sam.
You have a well maintained S2000 and that is hard to come by. I am the
king of talking myself into and out of things...
pulling the bandaid off and getting it sold immediately can be a regrettable thing.
Again, maybe I'm wrong.

I'm going to throw it up and see what happens. My guess is that there are going to be countless tire kickers and VTEC kicked in yo types inquiring and it'll take a good while to sell. It's worth a lot more than the higher mileage modded out examples you typically find on craigslist and the sort so I think I'll have plenty of time to ponder. Also, you should also remember that there's a distinct season here for a car like the S2000, if I don't sell it soon then I might as well keep it till next spring.

Oh I know I'm going to miss this car, there's no questioning that but missing and regretting are two different things. Cars, to me at least and probably many on here, are an experience and I really want to get as many experiences as I can while I'm still able to enjoy them.

if you talk to dr bob... i'm sure he will also echo cubano heat's remarks... when he traded in his S, i was very tempted to swap out my MR for his car at the dealership... it only had 30~k miles on it... i know he still misses that car even though he has a better replacement...

But Sam barely drives it as is, and it's otherwise collecting dust. His lack of driving it indicates to me his mind was made up awhile ago.
I dunno how wise it is to keep 22k locked up in a car that will end up seeing maybe 800 miles of use per year these days. What's worse is that having it sit in his garage keeps him from trying other stuff that's out, due to the lack of parking space he has.
Cars, they come, they go. Just material possessions at the end of the day.

And I don't disagree with him, a car can definitely be missed but I don't see Dr. Bob trying to sell his NSX or CTSV to get another S2000...or just buying another one too.

When I get the ad up, you'll be the first to know. Mine only has 48k on it.

This. It's a very expensive paperweight. Didn't drive it today (though I should have), won't drive it tomorrow (rain), won't drive Thursday (rain), and it'll sit all weekend as we're out of town at the in law's place. At the pace it's going now, I'll be lucky to put 1000 miles on it by the end of summer. Last summer was ~1500 as was the summer before that. The first year I had it, I put 4000 on it which was awesome but most of that was going to/from work. My commute to work and back now is 3 miles round trip.
