Well...the S2000 needed more doors, more driven wheels, and a lot more torque...

Ouch on the MPG, maybe that'll [barely] improve on the KO2s?

Woo congrats! I think you mentioned this in the other thread, but it's a 5MT?

Whats up with RDX owners?

Congrats!
Is this going to be solely for off-road/snow duty, or mall crawling?

It'll probably improve quite a lot with the KO2's ,the MT tires are just so soft, knobby, and have a ton of rolling resistance. I'm waiting for the inevitable labor day sale on tires to pull the trigger. I am debating between getting another set of 35's or going down to 33's for a better drive.
It's a 5AT. With actually taking this thing off road, I don't want to deal with a clutch going up a 30 degree incline on slick rock or dirt...
It'll do all of the above. The plan was to get a convertible we could enjoy around town with the dog and if/when we have a kid. This was the only thing I could think of since there wasn't a snowball's chance that I was going to get a Murano cross cab lol. We made the commitment that we'll do one Jeep jamboree every year as a tradition so it'll be a lot of fun.
Thanks man! It definitely drives different than the Golf or the S2000 lol. It's so comical it's fun.

Nice pickup. Crazy that that thing still looks and smells new. Good find.

It looks great on the 35s, but I imagine the 33s will make drivability a bit better & a bit less weight. As long as they don't look too small with how it's set up.
I'd be really interested in a Wrangler UL if I had somewhere to actually use it apart from a pavement princess.

You don't get a Wrangler to be practical.
Keep the 35s.
Keep the 35s.

Thanks everyone. I think I'm just going to keep the 35's. This thing is supposed to be ridiculous so might as well keep the train rolling.
Mods that are actually planned, in the order that they'll get done in:
1.) Replace tires with BFG K02's
2.) Raise third brake light to clear the spare tire, it's currently hidden and I don't like that.
3.) Replace headlights with LED units. The current ones are basically candles.
4.) Replace headunit with one that has Android Auto and backup camera, infotainment from 2013 isn't really very good and backing up with a 35" tire in the way is a pain/unsafe.
5.) Add steel step rails to replace the plastic ones that are on there.
Might add some accessories here and there like grab rails, fire extinguisher mount, and a sun shade but that might be it.

You'll also need the angry face grill cover, those braided tactical string grab handles, probably should swap out those nasty stock wheels for those black KMC wheels with the silver bolts around the rim and the giant star hub cap.
Plastic fenders need to go. Don't replace.
Need a cheap steel front bumper with a Harbor Freight winch.
LED Tail lights but make sure to opt for the "half burnt out" option.
And probably peel off the Rubicon stickers on the hood and replace it with something kitchy like "Not Finn-ished Yet".

Fuck that...
be whatever you are...order whatever you like! Take it out on the trails ASAP though so you can
see what the vehicle limitations are for YOU specifically.
I have an Audi, I use my turn signals and I will slit anyone's throat that tries to holler at my girl.
Change perceptions!

Aw yeaaaaah! Double stack the roof lights for extra bro-cred. And absolutely mandatory is the light bar on the hood so it can't thrown any usable light anywhere.
That thing is going to be tits!

Solid mod plan, IMO.
My neighbor's son has a JKU Sport & it's a bit over the top, but not quite to ridiculous.
Can't imagine Sam being worried about off-roading in it. The Trailhawk went off road a few times, and the JK is surely much more capable.
These are what I'd like for steps.

Don't forget about the lights that point down at the wheels so you can see the curb before running into it.

First mod done, replacing the pitiful stock halogens with some LED's. Got some used JW Speaker lights for far less than new installed, these ones are bright AF.

Looking good. Have you taken it to any trails yet?

Honestly, I'd recommend getting the 4dr Wrangler. They ride better because of the longer wheelbase and, if you want to bring people and stuff with you, they will have a ton more space. Either way, make sure you get a 2012+ model as the 3.8L they had in them before is/was a dog when it came to power and torque.
Not yet. I'm signing up for a trail run in northern MN at the end of September. Should be a ton of fun and see some cool fall colors at the same time. Currently between doing the Moab Jamboree or the Wyoming Jamboree for next year.
In other news, new tires ordered and will be installed Friday! Thank god, no more howl of the mud terrains rolling down the highway.

Problem for us is...we have too many kids for a 2 or 4 door so it would just be a drop kids off to school or take it off road here and there thing...
mostly just a project for her and I to tackle together. I would be going even older with the inline 4.0

The KO2's will look similar but drive a lot nicer. I'm sure the mud terrains are excellent off road but they are TERRIBLE to drive around town with. Also, they're downright dangerous in the rain and I've heard they are also terrible in the snow.
