We just got new 2009 TSX's today (Merged)

I saw it in person at the dealership today when my co-worker was picking up his new certified pre-owned 2007 TSX...
Originally he was going to buy the 2008 since he knew a new model was coming... that was until I showed him pictures of it...
when we were in there today he said thank you... not only did he save a lot of money, but he doesn't have to deal with that ugly front end...
I thought the car was nice from the rear, it definitely needs larger or sportier wheels, the interior was nice, except I can't stand this new nav interface. Why do they have to get rid of the touchscreen? It just bugs the hell out of me...

I saw Colin's 09 Acura TSX preview on youtube. Props to you Colin!

the audi grille was hit or miss too, but a lot of people have warmed up to it through the years.
i'd imagine more people will eventually accept the acura grille too. hopefully, the TL's will look more like the TSX's than the RL's.
i'm really liking the looks of the TSX more and more.
i haven't driven it and have only read reviews. but i'm not interested in trading up unless there's a V6 or turbo.
looks really good in white.
and man...our 1G TSX looks very vanilla in CS's pics.

The TSX (starting at $28,960) comes standard with a big, beautiful navigation system, heated leather seats, a moonroof and plenty of other upmarket swirlies.
Stupid reporters know nothing.

I drove an '09 auto
with tech package/navi today, just for the heck of it.
They had a 6spd but the salesman (sold me my '06 TSX) wanted to show me the Tech Package
The steering felt all but weightless (not good).
Suspension is a bit more "comfort" tuned than the 1st Gen. T
The route I took was a little too busy for me to "get on it", but the power felt about the same.
I liked the seats alot better. They're a little taller and the side bolsters are a bit more pronounced
The sound system with the tech package is 12314% better than the 1st gen.
DVD suround is the tits.
iPod (MP3) dock is damn awesome
If you have music on your "bluetooth" phone, you can play your music through the stereo
The second gen TSX adds what a lot of people wanted with the 1st gen
One Touch Sunroof
auto up/down front passenger window
rear view camera
factory lip spoiler
I heard from more than one salesman that the "engine bay has plenty of room for a V-6" and "the underbody is similar to the RL so SH-AWD could be coming".
I'll believe the engine part before the SH-AWD part
All in all, it's a pretty good evolution. The new styling is starting to grow on me. With the right wheels, it'll look pretty good.
IMO Acura addressed everyone's "gripes" except for more power.

I forgot to add:
For some reason, the headlights have a bulge on them over and in front of the turn signals. I think it's designed to make it more visible but, it'll be a rock catcher

they don't look to be as bad as the accord's. but i prefer non-bulging headlights.

one thing i did notice on the sticker that i did like was that they are 100% assembled in japan, and all parts are sourced in japan.
my stupid CL with the glass tranny was built in ohio.
ill give my full opinions tomorrow after i go back for a test drive and check one out with the performance bumpers or whatever.

it just looks like they cross bread the old tsx with a new camry.
the nav interface would piss me off but you get the new sound system so i guess thats a trade off... how much are you actually sitting there using the nav to where it would let you get upset ya know... its not like its your new computer at work.... plug in an address for 20 sec and go.
i agree the rear looks nice, id personally prefer some thinner spoked wheels also but wheels never stop me for buying a car, i'll end up putting my own on it anyway.
i probably WOULDN'T buy one in the future only because of the lack of power (at least until a V6 is made)... its a shame too cuz its the perfect sized car IMO... TL's just feel too big/heavy to me for some reason.
think i'll stick to bimmers for a while and maybe pick up a used 1st gen TSX for the GF in a year or so when she graduates.

So the new TSX was starting to grow on me but when I went in for service today I sat in the 08 TSX. I have to say I prefer the 08TSX interior over the 09. Body wise the new TSX looks cooler except for obviously the grill. The 09 TSX however has better suspension so I'm sure the ride is better. I just don't understand why they changed the interior. The 1st gen's interior was very nice the new one seems more like a space shuttle or something.

i went and had a closer look with a test drive yesterday.
they ride absolutely excellent, and the new steering system is pretty trick. The model i drove was a non nav 5spd auto and im sorry, but that interior was extremely cheap looking without the navi. not anywhere near 30k nice IMO. Seats were great, and there was a good amount of room on the inside altho it doesnt seem anymore roomy up front than my current CLS. Im sure the navi interior would spruce it up a little.
All in all its a MUCH better car in person, and the only gripe about the exterior is the obvious grill. The salesman did tell me than early fall should bring a completely new TL with SHAWD and a type S to follow in the next quarter. I'm a little worried though, cause he said the pics he has seen show the car is similar in stature to the TSX, but just bigger. that prob means its gonna have the bucktooth grill.

all the Acura cars will now sport that new grill it's a given. Their SUVs don't count.
hahahah just realized that probably the new NSX will also probably have that grill too!!!
