Way too many TL Type-S's on the road

I really dont like the fact that the TL has brought the Type-S moniker mainstream.

I drove to and back from Utica today and I saw at least 2-dozen TL Type-S's on the way.

I definitely agree. I've always see a tons of regular TLs in my neighborhood, now the Type S is popping up everywhere too.

This goes back to my old, old posts about not seeing any CLs around. I would have thought at least a dozen or so a week. Not many still. By my count it's probably more like 50 to 1 and that includes the MDXs

Editing this to say I just saw a Black TL Type S just like mine except with Chrome Wheels. Very, very nice!

They are everywhere, turning into a Long Island special....not surprising, a $30k luxury car that outguns much pricier competition (BMW 525i and 530i).

i saw 2 2002 tls (couldn't tell if both were -s or not, but i'm sure the one was) the first week they were supposed to be out.

but you know what this means...ricer's will oversaturate themselves stealing all those type-s symbols and xenon headlights that they won't need ours!

and don't forget they probably like those side view mirrors more than ours!

it seems here on Long Island, people are turning in their '98 leased TL's and opting to lease the new TL's. it just makes practical sense. they're cheaper than the BMW's, they're more practical in the sense they're sedans for family use, yet they carry the sporty flare for the enthusiast, and they carry features more expensive cars have at less of a price, so y not?? i think CL's were targeted more for couples or singles, not really families, but considering the back seat is roomy enough for some adults, perhaps young children would suffice. i can't see myself getting a sedan b/c im young, not married, and don't need the backseat all that much. all of the cars i looked at last summer when i was car shopping were coups, oddly enough (Mustang GT convert, BMW 3-Series (convert), Volvo C70 (convert)).

Wow, I'd have to say the complete opposite. I've seen 4 2002 TL's, and only one was a Type-S. In addition, I drove from my house to Albany last weekend and I only saw 1 the whole trip, and it was a TL-P!! I'm actually happy b/c if I do get one, I don't want to be one of the many and so far, so good!!

I like the fact that there aren't that many CLs around. My friends are always saying "We never see your car around", and my reply is "Good, I like it that way" I'm happy that our cars aren't like camrys, maximas or other ordinary cars. It actually makes me feel special! :-)

When I had my 99 Chrysler 300M, if I saw ONE a week around here that was a lot. Since I got rid of it, three months early , I see at least 3-4 a DAY! I don't get it. Then again, they weren't offering $5-8,000 OFF MSRP when I had mine!

Now, with the CL-S, I NEVER see any of those around here. That's fine with me. Actually, I find it difficult to tell an RL from a TL. I've never studied the 4 door models very much, but to me they all look the same. I like the uniqueness of the Type S.

Isn't it a good thing to see so many TL's on road? That means Acura is very popular and catching the everywhere Lexus and MB and BMW. I hope that Acura could sell 70,000-75000 TL's this year.

Just be happy that Acura is putting out great competition for the 330i, the Volvo's, and the Lexus's and Benz's. People may argue that the 330i is soooooo much better in stick than the TL-S in every way .. buy hey, overall sales will speak for itself I suppose. When the g-e-n-e-r-a-l public wants to buy a car, the TL-S is a GREAT value.

well we dont have that problem up here in boring Minnesota. I've seen a grand total of one, count it 1, TL-S, and it was the sales manager from the dealership where I bought my car. He goes to my church, so that's how I saw it. Oh, and I saw a 2002 TL-P when I was in Omaha last week. That's it. If anybody frequents the acura-tl website, will ya post for any TL or TL-S owners in Minnesota to email me??? thanks ...

yeah, they can't get enough of them, always a 6 month wait. a friend went to buy one, and they said october, and then they dared him to try and find one in another state, i figure there has got to be SOME availability. i saw an ad for the TL-S in the paper, lease special $380 a month with $2000 down.
