This dude on the .Org (maxima.org) had been working on a VQ35DE powered B15 Sentra. Well, he finally finished up an ran it at the track:

He mentions going to a 24.5" tire to get a better MPH and time. The opposite would happen. Going to a taller tire has the same effect as going to higher gears (final drive). This reduces torque multiplication, therefore reducing acceleration.

More props if it was a SR20DET swap... but I guess 6 cylinders under the hood would do the job... The car must handle awkward with such a heavy engine under the hood.

I bet Nissan's engineers were watching, and thinking, "Hey, we should do that! That engine shall be whored some more!"

That is pretty cool.

Wonder if that engine would fit in the S2k?!?!?

Maybe. There's already an S2K with an GM LS1 motor circulating on the web (Link ) , so I'd imagine that the VQ35DE is doable.

if the hp wars keep up, I wouldn't be surprised to see the VQ stock in a Sentra.

Ya neva kno!! If they do, I just hope they use an AWD drivetrain layout. The VQ creates some mad torque in the heavier Maximas and Altimas; I cant imagine how bad the TS would be on the lighter Sentra.

But, rumor has it that Nissan may opt to use the upcoming MR motors in the next Sentra (B16?).

If Nissan made a car like that, it would be a pretty good competitor to the supposed Mazdaspeed 3 that has a chance of coming out. Come to think of it, the Civic Si might have some trouble with that Mazda - AWD, turbocharged 4-cylinder, sounds like a winner.
