Vote New TL vd 2008 CPO BMW 335i
I had been leaning towards selling my 02 TL-S and getting the new TL, but I just couldn't bring myself to by such an ugly car. Change a few exterior items and get more hp and it would be harder for me to say no to another TL. Looking in the same price range, I went to testdrive several 07 & 08 BMW 335i with between 13K miles and 39K miles. I have to say that the feel and drive of the 300 twin turbo is just outstanding, and the fit and finish of the interior was as tight at 39K miles as the lower mile models. You can get into one for about $28,500 and up certified usually with 3 years and 100K miles left on the CPO and approx a year left of totally free maintanance. New those run $45K+
Its too bad that Acura didn't just throw a turbo or supercharger on the new TL.
So I thought I would put it to the test on here, by vote to help me decide on which car I will drive the next three years: new Acura TL or 2008 BMW 335i twin turbo.

Go with the BMW. Much better car as long as you don't neglect normal maintenance. My sister's 97 328i is about to hit 200K miles. It's had a few minor issues but the engine and transmission are bullet proof.
The new TL exteriors are ugly. Beaks belong on birds not cars. The interior on the other hand is nicer than the BMW interior.

The new TL maybe ugly stock but that's what modding is for. I will never buy another brand car besides Honda or Acura. Although your looking at a 08 my boss bought a 03 BMW and has had more time in the shop fixing then actually driving but she could have just bought a car that wasn't taken care of who knows.

I was leaning towards the 335i because with an 08' and around 20K to 24K miles I can keep her 3 years under warranty then sell and put that towards either the new body style 5 series BMWs coming off lease by then or a brand new replacement to the current TL aka the Windows Vista of TLs.

Your right it is redundent, it just feels nice saying it when talking about what my boss calls a girlie car whenever he hears me mention thinking about getting one. [He drives a 2 year old Lamborgini and 09 CLS63 AMG]

this, the ronjon grille for the 4gens aren't too bad. and can't beat AWD
I've seen this comin man. Knowing you were an attorney, seeing you do all these performance upgrades, then i saw your tranny breakage thread, i knew you were gonna get a new car but honestly i can't blame you. why not?
i imagine he works for a law firm. his boss is probably the owner.

Tell him to pay you more so you don't have to drive a girlie car. He wants you properly representing the firm, doesn't he?

Lemme guess, this thread was moved.
There are other cars out there besides Acura and BMW that are worth considering. Make a list of five or six and go drive them. If nothing else, you're more certain about your choice. Upside is you might find something you really like you didn't expect.

The 4G TL has grown on me, but I would go for the 335. The only thing that would steer me away from the 335 is the interior room. The TL wins in that category but then again it's a mid-size car.

Funny how you can tell right away!
For the price of a new TL, my ass would be in an Audi A5
But for the choices posted... it's a no brainer... BMW all the way.

I was in a similar position when a lease was ending-- didn't like the clutches on the 335i, the 4G TL was big (+ not aesthetically pleasing) like the Lexus GS, the G37 manual shifter annoyed me, not enough cargo room in the Cayman, etc.
I bought my 3G TL off the lease in the interim, and probably will keep it for a while until some new car really appeals to me.

Forget the used 335i..... new 328i - current great deals out there. It easily "betters" the TL.

Of course now there's a lot of smack talking at the office about the 3 vs. the G. It's all in good fun though.
