I am still in the market for a new car...on the list at the moment is:
2006 Evo IX - 26,000
2007 TL-S 6sp - 29,900
2008 TL-S Auto - 32,000
And I found this today: http://www.bmwoffreehold.com/PreOwned/PreOwned/
Scroll down till you get to the M3's its the 2005 Silver Gray (Not the convertible)
Its priced at $40,000 which is $5,000 over any Retail/Wholesale websites price.
Anyone have a point of view on it? Good buy? Bad buy? Checked the fax and its clean 1 owner 24,000 miles.
Is it worth pursuing?

I also found this one as well z4:

But the carfax is really scary...theres no sale to any previous owner just says sold at auction with 6,000 miles on it...makes me think VIN # Swap?

E46 M3s are pretty solid cars. They are no Honda, but they really don't have a ton of problems. They need a little extra maintnence (valve adjustments every 30k miles) but on the other hand they never need brakes which is good cause they cost a fortune.

Put some Juicebox2 ($379) in it and you'll leave that M3 in the dust
I wouldn't pay more than $25K.

Maybe you wouldn't pay more than that...market says otherwise though. An M3 fitting his description is still easily a $30k car.
Well thats a start. Sure they want you to come in and everything, but just set the price you want to pay before you go there. I'd go and look at the care when they are closed to make sure the exterior is in good enough shape. If all is good then go in and immediately begin your negotiations, don't drive the car, talk about its features, if they can't meet your price there is no reason to talk about anything else.
