Rallying is a great sport. You should look into buying a beater to go offroading, something like a toyota corolla ae86. In socal there are a number of places where you can take your offroading legally.

The TL or TSX is not designed for stuff like that, don't abuse your car. Be greatful to own such a nice car at a young age.

I am greatful, I pay for my car, its insurance, its gas, etc. Just like everybody else. EVO is my favorite rally car though, followed by Subaru, and Audi. I know the car wasn't designed to be sliding around on dirt like that, but I washed it up really good after wards and it was fine.

You didn't get paint chipped off from all that splashes? I would hate to see get paint chipped off.... In any case, the video looked stupid. Why don't you take that car to Oulton Park in England and practice about 100 laps and you'll get good at it. No drifting, no sliding there. Take the turns without sliding and get some good lap times. The Acura would fit in to that better....

What I am sayin' is that the front wheel drives are not for drifting, or any kind of sliding. It looked awkward watching your video. Do you see cars drift in most race events? They don't. Save the tires and work on cornering techniques and how well you exit out of the corner for better lap times. Driving on tracks like that would look really cool for the TL. I would love to see a video of TL on those tracks.

^^^Ok...., but I was just messing around with the car that day. I decided to do that 5 minutes before I dd it. Also I wasn't racing in a small dirt lot. Finally I wasn't drifting, if you read that last posts my friend saved the file under that name. I don't know why your talking about track times though.

The only thing that would have made me think "cool" while watching that was if you slid your TL into that telephone pole...

Wow, that sucks that you'd think that was cool. I hate seeing other members cars torn up.

Not gonna flame ya, because I've done it before, in a FWD too... I was a passenger though. It is really fun, and I've yet to sit in the passenger seat of a RWD car or even do it myself. I probably won't try it in a TL though, and if I did I wouldn't post it. Thats just me. The vid looked fun though, and I bet it was. No hate here.

I'm just trying to rationalize why you think you deserve "props" or "praise" for sliding your TL around in a dirt lot.

Plus, you state you hate seeing other members getting their car torn up, and I would agree but only when the members are a victim and not one of their own stupidity.

Sliding your new TL around in a dirt, rock lot with buildings and a telephone poles in close proximity just isn't smart in my book. Ragging on other members for not giving you praise isn't smart either. Nor would the paint chips which are most assuredly all over the lower panels of your TL now.

Not to worry though, time catches up to all of us sooner or later.

Never ragged on anybody. Just thought it was interesting how I posted this in two places and got two different responses from the majority of each.

Actually, I got the TL (loaner, I had it before) back from the repair shop becuase they were taking care of a rattle that they didn't fix.
