used G35 pricing?
Guys, I've offered an unrealistic $25K for this car, in hopes of inching up to my final price of $28K. Am I on track?
2006 G35 sedan 6mt sport pkg
This car is a 6mt (298 hp) with the sport pkg and Navi. Ideally I'd get an automatic (280hp) but the stick won't pose a problem. The car has 12K miles.
This would replace my 2000 TL/Navi that currently has 135K miles.

When I was looking at G35s in november they were offering 5,000 right off the bat on 06 G35s. That brought the ones with premium package to around ~30k, so I think 28k for a used one is doable.

What's your budget? If you can afford an '07, I would go for that as the design is 100x better. I forget the changes between the '05 and '06, but I think they were minor....if that is the case, why not get a low mileage '05 and save some money, better yet... find an individual seller and save on tax. I'm personally not a big fan of "certified" vehicles. You're paying that "certified" premium for a car ALREADY under warranty. What's the point?
Some other G35's in your zip code:

Here's an '06 listed for 24.5k:

Well, I couldn't get this guy to move at all. I aksed him to give me his best price, and he quoted the price on the website!!
We had to part company; I don't want to drop that on a used car.

His explanation:
Thank you for taking the time to check the numbers out.If you go onto grubbsinfiniti.com and pull up this car,you can pull up the car fax history on this car. There you will find that this was a corporate car that we purchased at auction just recently.I am telling you this for a couple of reasons.First, they are hard to find and we do well with them.Second, this car came from California and the cost to ship this vehicle here was real close to $700.If you take trade in + this you have $26,475.To go through certification (our average is $1500 per car) but we will used $900,we are now at $27,375.We also have three different venders come out and make sure that the interior is clean and the exterior does not have door dings or scrapes on the bumpers.
We are very particular about what we provide or customers. As far as retail we are $2400 back of what they say we can retail it for and that does not include the certification warranty.Subtract that off and we are $3600 back of retail.
We offer a great product for a fare price without building in fluff, and yes we are going to make a fare profit. The numbers off KBB show this and there are expenses to our program but it is worth it to us and our customers. We do not sell every one,but we do turn our inventory every month. The folks that see what we do appreciate it,but if it is about buying a discount , most of the time it just does not work out.
I would love to have your business but our price is our price. $30,625+TTL Certified and $29,425+TTL not certified.

And the 07', optioned the way I'd want it, is $39K. With 3 kids, a mortgage, and a SUV payment, I don't *need* a $40K car.
My tops would be 28k for a G35 sedan w navi. Must be at least an 05 (new nose and tails that year)
Otherwise I'm back to looking at 05 & 06 TLs.
Thanks for the input guys.

^ dude his explanation is BS. Shop around and get an '05. You can easily get an '05/low miles/navi within your budget. Took me almost 3 months to get my RL. But it worked out and I'm glad I passed on some of the cars I almost purchased.

Thanks for the encouragement. I bought a "good enough" car ONCE. I said I'd never do that again. From now, on, I'm buying only cars that I *WANT*.

Your TL still runs, and it's already high miles. Keep driving it and take your time to find the car you really want to get.
By the way, I'm not sure if you are really concerned about gas at all, but my co worker has a 05 G35 and he said his mileage sucks on it.

That's true. The TL is starting to show its age, cosmetically, plus there are cooler toys out now (voice recongintion Navi, Bluetooth) in addition to more power.
Admittedly the G35 in my original link is loaded, but I've never heard of a used car dealer saying the price on the website is the final price. Should I call and ask for a different salesperson?
