UltraSuede/Alcantara/UniSuede

Has anybody used any of these on their interiors? If so where did you get it and can you post pics? Im considering using it in my interior to cover my panels, headliner, center sections of the seats, and anything else that is currently covered in the god awful camel tan color in my car. Thanks

AFAIK Gulf Fabrics is the only authorized reseller of alcantara.

They are located in Florida and will send you samples of their stuff... www.gulffabrics.com.

Alcantara S.p.A. has available material. Shame it's crazy expensive from them.

So does the B6/B7 S4/RS4

I'm not sure if they've added it back to the B8s or not. If so, nothing wild like the Nogaros of the past IIRC.

Lamborghini uses Alcantara in it's cars....can't be too bad then. If it's good enough for Lambo, it's good enough for me.

They're offering it on the B8 A4 IIRC.

Took in a trade a few years ago. Chipped 01 S4 in Negaro Blue with this interior. I ended up driving it for about a month, what a great little car - so much fun to drive.

I love the fancy name (and price) used for a material that is 68% polyester. You wouldn't wear a polyester tie so why is it okay in your car?

^ Gotcha. Just turned on signatures and saw it's a 2004. Seems like a lot of money to spend on a 6 year old interior. But it should look nice...

Alcantra is nice on places such as on the dash, headliner and pillars. On seats it doesn't look that great. IMO stick with some nice leather with good padding underneath it. For example is this NSX;

NSX belongs to Jetpilot on NSXPrime

Ya its alot more than I want to spend. Ultrasuede has the same look and feel and is a 3rd of the price. Im planning on covering the headliner, visors, any interior piece that already has the ugly OEM fabric on it, the door panel leather inserts, and rear deck cover. The seats will most likely be done in leathe but Ive taken a liking to these Bride Low Max Gias or the Corbeau GTSII (had those in a Eclipse GST). Im just nervous about the air bag system though.

That NSX looks like it took alot of work and money to get that way

That NSX dash looks horrible. Shame a nice car was ruined like that.

I got it on the A4 Avant S-Line. Feels great on the butt and on my hand as I caress the doors.

I would only do the headliner, pillars and seat inserts. Maybe the shifter boot, center armrest and door rests. The dash and console are a bit overkill...

He paid about 2700 dollars for all the alcantra and the Type-R carpeting! Also he did in a greyish color, black would have looked the best...

Headliner looks good, that's about it. And that blank panel under the HVAC looks like crap. Put a Navi or something in it. Why would you want a huge blank space covering most of the center console?
