Got the same thing when I was 18... Reckless driving. Except the judge in Ohio put me in jail for 3 days and I paid a $900 dollar ticket. (126 in a 60)

You can try to fight this - but the prosecuting attorney will not lower a reckless op charge.

BTW my insurance on my MS3 (Mazda 3s), car I had at 18 went up to a little over $500 per month after this. Thats with Progressive - State min full coverage and $1k deductibles.

If you plan on fighting, I bid you good luck - but I think you have a lot to learn still.

Dude, he spent 3 days in jail for doing more than double the speed limit on the highway.

I'm suprised he could get coverage at all.

best deal is "plea bargin" it down they might drop the 3 lane change and just nail you on the speed.
but odds of you getting it total off slim:none.

have you taken your states safety driving course in the past 18 months?

If I was you I'd do this:

1) go to court and just try and plea down as best as you can, pay the ticket and ask the judge to lower the points

2) then take the saftey driving course... it knocks 6 points off of your record here in NY and reduces your annual premium by 10%... you have to take it after you get the points though.. can only do this once every 18 months though
