Wheels go PERFECT with that car, it's crazy.

Also .. rebuilt motor with a decently sized turbo.

Reminds me of this .... I love watching this video

Damn that is beautiful. The wheels look so good on it too. Just so clean.

Welp ... boost leak is fixed. 24 psi spike, 20 psi taper ... and it's quick. My tuner gave me the green light on doing revisions and logging! Crazy thing is ... I should be getting another 50-75whp just on revisions & fuel change alone

Anybody want to take a guess as to what it could be? Hint .. it's probably the dumbest boost leak in the world

Recorded a quick clip of a 3rd to 4th gear pull the other night:

I've had very little time this week, but I think Saturday / Sunday will be a good time to submit logs and get my timing & fuel trims dialed.

Stay tuned.

That's pulling pretty hard from that speed! How does it do in the lower gears?

You need to be ready when you go WOT in 1st... the RPMs climb very quickly as full boost hits at right around 4K. 2nd pulls great too.

Highway gears are my favorite though. I’m not used to seeing he speedo move so quickly

Can you tune boost by gear? You could limit boost in first and second to help with traction and then make full boost in third.

At this moment (on a base file), traction in 1st isn't an issue yet ... then again, I haven't launched it now that it's healthy

I'm curious if it's setup for boost by gear ... I'll ask my tuner about it.

Even my 2.0 T with a Stage One Tune is way fun 80 mph comes way fast.

Turbocharging ftw - The S4 is the only car I've ever had that makes torque like this - don't get me wrong, I loved revving the hell out of all the Hondas / Acuras I've had .. but nothing compares to having torque this low and holding it all the way to 7200rpm.

I am one happy camper.

^ Agreed, after that EcoBoost, I'm spoiled with turbo power. The F150 replacement will definitely be a turbo; the couple cars I've test driving that were N/A just haven't cut it.
Same feeling driving my wife's Flex, feel like I have to rev its neck off to get going.

yah We all enjoy the "easy" ones but it is the hard to get ones that are most satisfying.

Every time this thread gets bumped, I come in here expecting to read that something blew up and the engine has to come out again.

Glad to hear it's finally running the way you want. Enjoy the boost and next time I'm in SD, I expect a taste of the boost.

Lol, thanks Sam.

Honestly, the car feels SOLID. It runs a bit rich, but there's not a drop of oil under the car, there's no concerning sounds under boost, boost builds gradually and the powerband is very smooth.

You have my #, definitely text me when you're on your way out here. Since last time you rode in my car .. I'd say it's picked up at least 120whp

I'm hoping another 75whp on top of that by the end of April

So what are the expected final figures you should be around at the end of April then?

Oh and ... I've had 2 kills this week.

I put 4 car lengths on a 1st generation SRT8 Charger from 60-110 and put a few bus lengths on a new R/T.

Can't wait until E85 ... I want to say it'll be only a few car lengths behind a stock 1st Gen R35 GTR.

Sorry for the post whoring today ..

Took this one on the way to C&C last Saturday.

Eventually ... I plan on getting the roof repainted (clear coat gone near the sunroof) and adding a legit OEM RS4 grill .. it will clean up the car looks wise quite a bit.

Touche

I would say in that case .. I would bring the Fit! But, I have a sneaking suspicion the alternator is going to shit the bed any day ... and same with the S4s.

You win this round my friend .

Isn't wrap cheaper and easier? since the roof is relatively flat.

after what you had been through with the S4, changing some suspension component + alternator on a fit probably take less time than me eating lunch.

Wrap is indeed cheaper, but I mostly used it as a temporary measure to stop the clear coat from failing more than it already has .. plus, makes it a look a ton better.

For me, paint is always better than a wrap .. it's just one of those "eventually" things

Maybe ... I've screwed up pretty simple jobs in the past! With my luck .. a bolt would strip / shear

Now that the car is running close to 100% ... I plan on keeping it for the long haul. How long that is? No idea ..

One thing I will say is ... the moment I find BEL motor (From an '03 Allroad) for a fair price, I'm picking it up and going further down the rabbit hole

BEL is just the block code, I want to say mine is APB. It would still remain twin turbo.

According to my tuner, BEL is the strongest due to their casting technique during production & few structural changes - it's the latest style block they made.

With larger turbos with a built motor (rods, pistons, springs, etc), 600whp would not be out of the question ... ETH FO would then be super sleeper status

Here's a great example of a full interior built Stage 3 + car ... acceleration is ridiculous

Has she asked "Why do you need so much power?"

Because i have been asked many times and i could not really answer that question without getting a follow up question.

Me: "Because it makes me happy"
Her: I dont make you happy?

She's asked me in the past ... and I ask why she needs so many animals .

Jokes aside, I don't think she understands why I want so much power ... but based on how much I talk about it & how much effort I've put into the project, she knows it's important to me and supports it. Anything she wants to do, I'll show the same support.

I'm one lucky shmuck.
