Good quality video, but the video seems a little cocky. Yeah, so he beat up on some domestics, but there are MANY domestics that would leave him in the dust. It's a sweet car, but no need to be cocky like that.

The only race I wanted to see was the Z06 race - That part of the clip ended way too quickly though.. hmmn...

i want to see him go against the z06 again too, didnt seem like a clean race, but with 514 rwhp on the highway my guess is that iw still would beat the z06 cause the turbos have lots of time to spool up

That car is fast as shit, but if you dropped a turbo in an LS1 or supercharger in a Stang then the tables would be turned. You could tell those cars werent heavily modded. A head and cammed LS1 with 3.73 or 4.10's will put out well over 500 horsies and would pull on that car. And any turbo LS1 owner makes a little under or over a 1000 horses depending on their set up. Even guys with the STS remote mount turbo kit are seeing 600 horses with headers. Mind You i can take an 01 F body with low miles and turbo it and do other suspension mods and still be in under 20k. And this is a car that will now run 9's to 10's while also being a highway terror. On the LS1 forums there are tons of vids or tubo trans ams and camaros walking on bikes on the highway.

the domestics kept wanting to race him, thinking they would have a better chance if they tried again. that is funny. this is just one of the vast plethora of trash-talking videos out there, I doesn't stand out to me as being more cocky than any of the others... I think he is allowed a certain greater level just because he owned those guys so bad - and keep in mind this is a Lexus 4-door going against LS1's...

oh yeah - we are talking about a small turbo on the Lexus. with a larger turbo the block can handle upwards of 1000rwhp. and, it's a 3.0L i-6 being compared to 5.xL V8's. do you care to comment on that, bigman?

The thing with an IS300 is that you either have to go big or go home. Since they are running the supra engine (minus the drivetrain and turbos) they have great protential, but it costs a lot to get them up there.

I am trying to convince my bro to start working on this IS but he just couldnt be bothered.....

No Problem, i can comment on that all day. The point is that the IS has the inline 6 outta the NA Supra, not the TT Supra. It would take a hell of a lot of work to get the IS to get 1000 horses out of that motor. I know, because my litttle cousin is running around in Yonkers with a single turbo IS. The stock block cannot handle all that boost. If you want to compare apples to oranges, we can. How is it that you can turbo the 6 from the IS and make 500 and change horses. While the 5.7 litre outta the LS1 can make that from a $2000 head and cam package. There are plenty of all motor LS1's with 500+ horses with heads, cam, exhaust and tune. that is about 3500 bucs for all that power on the motor alone. Now if you want to compare apples to apples, a turbo LS1 with stock internals on low boost (6psi) will easily make 600 plus horses. A turbo LS1 with heads will make 1000 plus. The point i am trying to make is that you made a smart remark, "do you care to comment on that", when in reality, he who has the most money, can have the faster car. You can make a comeback that the IS can accept a supra motor, i can make a comback about using the 7.0 litre C5R block in an F body and so on and so forth. No matter what, that IS is a fast car and it is a sedan. But the reality is that LS1 can be modded to take on that IS with a lot less money. I agree on run what you brung and i know the potential of the IS. The LS1 is not God's gift to man. But at the end of the day, it has way more mod potential with a lot less work and money.

yes the IS requires considerably more money to get the same performance out of it, compared to the LS1's. cars react to mods in different ways - V8's get big power out of FI, very easily, and with very low boost. known fact, nothing new. saying well, if those V8's had FI they would smoke the turbo i6. yeah...

Thats why theres no point arguing over a race, theres always going to be a loser. Yes the IS300 won and thats great, but don't go saying it wouldn't be fair for another car with a larger engine to mod up and be even faster, thats the whole game, has nothing to do with being fair.

I'm not mad at all, I can appreciate any car being fast and I give the guy all the credit he deserves for building a fast car and a great sleeper, whether its a beater or an enzo and no one was trying to let you know that there were cars faster than a turbo Is300. You were the one saying it was somehow great for an import sedan with a tiny turbo and I6 to somehow beat the big and bad domestics with those large engines when in reality people were just trying to let you know it goes both ways as far as modding and it goes as far as the money owners want to put out.

As I mentioned, I give this IS300 props because it is impressive taking a very mild stock car and make it very fast. Here's a more apt competitor as it has a LS series engine (LS6), is FI and is a Lux sedan:

u cant say that that car would woop on all domestics, the IS was heavily tuned and for all we no the domestics had an exhaust as there only mod. Put the same money into a domestic and IMHO, no chance for the IS. Not a fair comparison in my oinion just another ricer vid.
