Transport Canada issues latest recalls

Ottawa, Ontario - Transport Canada has issued its latest recalls, which may affect some Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Toyota and Nissan vehicles.

2005-2006 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren
Vehicles affected: 41
In certain vehicles, under hard operating conditions, the engine compartment temperature can increase to a level which exceeds the design parameters for the alternator. Dealers will install a modified control unit and a new alternator.

1998-2000 Audi A6
Vehicles affected: Unknown
On certain vehicles, if the plastic cover is not securely installed to the driver's side support crossmember, the headlight switch wiring harness could short out on the crossmember, which could cause a fire. The correction will be announced.

2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser
Vehicles affected: 1,435
On certain vehicles, the tire's inner bead may have been damaged during assembly. This may result in a sidewall bulge, and/or air may leak from the damaged bead. Dealers will replace the tires.

2006 Nissan Altima
2006 Nissan Sentra
Vehicles affected: 6,300
Certain vehicles equipped with the four- cylinder 2.5-litre engine may exhibit excessive oil consumption as a result of improper piston rings. If the oil level is not maintained, engine damage can occur and could result in an engine fire. The correction is to be determined.

Hmm.. good point. Can't believe it flew right by me.

I know there's one from Alberta haha. Two of my friends saw it at the airport, another saw an SLR parked near downtown (the offices outside the dt core) in an alley.. go figure.
