The vast majority of kids don't pay for their first cars (sure osme of you did). Some are given nicer first cars or cars in general because their family is more wealthy. But what fun is making money if you don't get to enjoy it with/on those around you

Modesty requires that one have a sense of their environment, a sort of social court awareness if you will. Your initial post leads me to the conclusion that either:

1. you have absolutely no social awareness

2. you had the intent to incite the situation just as it occurred

First of all, it is near impossible to directly compare your car with a SLK 55 different categories and one is twice as expensive as the other. Second, your post stinks of the Paris Hilton syndrome. I don't car if daddy buys you a F430 (though I think it would be sad considering you likely couldn't find an apex with a map and a Little Orphan Annie decoder ring), see I don't mind when the well heeled spoil themselves or their children. What I do have an admittedly personal issue with is when they buy things they do not appreciate. Paris probably doesn't have a clue the 360 she has been seen tooling around in has 40 valves.

The less incendiary and most elegant way you could have posed your question was simply "SLK 55 WYHI and why?" You would have gotten all the useful info from here without the haterade. You could have added would you trade your TL for one to get a better feel for the sentiment here.
