Interesting. Hadn't thought of it that way. I will agree that karma is the only universal law.

That being said, I still don't feel bad about what I did w/ the TL. The car was beautiful and whoever buys it will still be very lucky.

Dude, I don't get this at all. I just KBB'ed a 2007 TL Type-S Trade-In value and came up with (26K miles)...

Excellent, $25,200
Good, $23,950
Fair, $21,850

The guy apparently got $20,000 for his car and he's committing fraud?

Private party - hell yeah you have to tell them about the history of the vehicle. Dealer? - hell no. They have skilled appraisers that look at everything. More than likely, they knew your car was in an accident by examining it (hence the below "Fair" trade-in value). Plus, they'd rip off your mom, your grandmother, and steal your dog if they could make money.

Zero fraud was committed here and I'm sad to hear about your new car getting swiped. Sux.
