Trading the 550i..but for what? Still confused...
One exit on the highway.
Lexus ES? Yuck. Why not just get a Camry instead?
I finally decided on a car which I will be picking up on Monday or Tuesday of next week. It's a fully loaded carbon black 550xi.
Here's a video of another owner's 550xi - mine will have the same options and interior color. Only the exterior color will be different.

I'm a just a little nervous (as I usually am until I become comfortable with a newer car).

This is why we all have different tastes and opinions. Not one car is perfect for everyone.
Congrats on the 550i. Msport ftw!
My buddy is about to order one and cant wait to give it a whirl!

I'm kind of pissed off:
- Dealer didn't have car ready on delivery date (i can forgive)
- He messed up twice already on my payments (quoting me a lower rate and then saying "oh that interest rate was an error - here is your actual cost). It was an actual mistake too - not a scam - but still very annoying.
- I specifically requested no front plate on my car, they did a locate on my car, and when it came in, already had a front plate on it since it came from another dealer.
- Isn't very communicative.
Would anyone here walk away from the deal if all of that happened? This entire process has been dragging out for way too long now too. I'd also feel weird walking away since I had a friend do me a personal favor (he was an ex-salesperson at the dealership) and got me a pretty decent deal.

1. Contact another dealer to see if they can match the deal. Tell them you're ready to buy if they can.
2. If yes...walk away!
3. If no....deal with the inconvenience, if you must have the car, and have the dealer make good on what he told you...especially the front plate and financing agreement.

He called me and told me I can go pick up the car today at 6:30 and it would be ready.
He said he could offer me some sort of free gift for my inconvenience but they wouldn't budge on pricing any more.
Am I making a big deal about the front plate or am I warranted to complain some?

I have heard this before that doing this gets you a large discount but never knew why. Why and how much are you referring to when you say hefty discount.

It's a hefty discount because the Euro invoice is about 7% cheaper than the US amount.
They then make you drive it on the Autobahn in Germany. It's supposed to be an exhilirating experience.
But the real reason they make you drive on the Autobahn is so that when you have the car shipped to the US, it ships as a used car so you don't have to pay new car import tax on it.

I just asked my bodyshop guy. He said to make it look like there were never holes, they have to remove the bumper, fill the holes, sand it down, and repaint. It will then look as good as factory. Total cost ~$550.
More than that.
If you pay say $1k over ED invoice compared to U.S MSRP then theres around a 13% discount.
7% Discount if you comparing ED invoice with U.S Invoice.

550, I'm jealous.
DO WANT!
That is so cool I have never seen that before.
at that guys car. The video he made was very nice also.
