Trade for a Gcoupe?

So, I've really been wanting to trade in for a G35 Coupe within the next 6 months. My friend got a 350z last summer, and ever since, I cant get over that VQ exhaust note, and the easy access to some serious power. The one thing turning me off is the interior, it looks so cheap compared to even my current 06 TSX. Acura beats out nissan/infiniti by a mile on their interior styling. If I do get one, i would probably go with a low mileage 04 MT (stock brembos ). I dont know if its a good trade or not, though i think the increase in power would make up for the interior dullness. Its not like the G has the interior of a Ford, its just, a step down, but bareable. let me know what you think.. thanks

there's another thread in car talk and someone's looking to buy a G35 coupe.

you might be able to find some good information there.

most likely feedback would be to find an '05+ model with the upgraded interior.

in my opinion, the TSX's interior STILL looks better. but it's better than the '04's.

but if you don't mind the gas mileage, 2 doors, possibility of losing money on a trade-in/sale, and possible insurance increase, i'd say go for it. it's a great car.

I would much rather have 06 TSX (Are you the first owner? If so you know the history of your vehicle) vs. 04 G35c. Looking at your signature, your car seems very well equipped... and face it.. it's not like TSX is a 'slow' car.

I believe i will get around 15k for my TSX (got hailed on ), i would only look at the 04, if i could find a good deal on a 6mt, just for the brembos. And my insurance, i dont even want to think about that, ive had 3 tickets, each 6 months apart. but since the last one(6 months ago), nothing! knock on wood! PLus..im 18..so i think insurance will go through the roof. Do I wait till im 21?..

Yeah, i understand. I've taken pretty good care of my baby. And i believe, alot of the G35coupes out there are driven pretty hard, since you know, its a sports car. But, im also at the point where I want more power. No matter how much money i put into this car, it wont be as fast as a G35coupe, which is where i want to be. I just dont know..I know the TSX is not a slow car by any means, but its just not enough anymore..

As Jedi said, there are several threads on this, one of them being my own. Anyways, Jedi pretty much nailed it on the head. And especially with the wonderful new info you have provided us (tickets, young age, etc..), your insurance will go up quite a bit on the G35, and it's a gas guzzler. And, the '05 interior is definitely tolerable to me. I test drove the TL, a TSX, etc, and I don't find them that much more special (except for the navi). The power is great, but you definitely have to weigh your options and make a smart decision. In this case, I say

save your money....you want more power but have gotten 3 tickets in the tsx. insurance will definitely go up and that means more money out of pocket. your have a great car, hell i wish i had more power in my car but i needed the awd and it somewhat keeps me out of a little trouble but i'll still push it. thats why i'm probably getting a bike this summer to satisfy my need for speed. i don't think i would trade a tsx for an o4 g35, especially if i know the cost of insurance is going to go up.

I would wait save money by not getting tickets so insurance goes down and get w.e car i want instead of an already 4 year old car and the g37 just came out so the 04 isnt even the current body style and the g35s ride sucks and the plastic really does suck compared to the tsx

Alright, im convinced. All your points make sense: the insurance will basically go up 40%(just checked), so itll be about 800 dollars a year extra, for me. Im thinking, since im keeping the tsx for atleast another 3 years now, should i just mod it a bit? (body kit, rims, lowering) Or save up for the next car? Even though i dont think 2k should make that big of a difference? Plus, i can always sell these parts and get atleast 1200ish back in 3 years. Input asap so i can get started lol.

You're young, just like myself. Fortunately for you, that means you can make mistakes, but it doesn't mean you should make them.

On the other hand, everybody deserves to pleasure themselves , haha. But in realistic terms, we all are allowed to indulge in our needs and wants. As you said, you can turn around and sell them when you need to get rid of it. My advice to you, is to have fun with it, but do it wisely. Don't do anything foolish. While you're at it, think it over a couple of times before you make a decision to buy something, and ask yourself if it's really worth it. By all means fulfill your lifestyle to what you see fit, but think it through before acting on impulse.

Yeah, im gonna keep it. But, the 335, not feeling it. Dont get me wrong, 335 is a sick car, one of the slickest on the roads. But, im not much of a fan of BMW. The interiors are too plain for me (Acura FTW), and the maintainece is a killer. and whatever car i get in 3 years, i will be keeping it for atleast 6-7 years, i dont want to deal with a bmw--alot of maintence, and high charges for it. Right now, looks like i will be looking at the G37

G37 interior is definitely more comparable to Acura than the G35.....
