Trade In for 350Z....

Hi..
I had a question hope u guys can shed some light before i take this step/

I jus bought the cl about 2 months ago. I have less then 3000 miles on it..its a 6 spd.
I have it financed for 60 months..i have never traded in before my car is paid off. Is this possible? how do the dealers or banks do this? If i wanted to trade my cls for another car that is.
In this case a 350Z

thx

WHaaaaaaaaaaa! Are you nuts????? Why the hell would you want to trade for the 350z? I mean i could see if you had the 5EAT but the 6speed is an awesome ride.

To answer your question the only way you're gonna get half decent trade is the value of the car is more than what you owe on the car. If you put a down payment i could see this being possible but if you financed the entire amount you're loan structure is "upside down".

You're best bet will be to hold on to the CLS for alteast two years and then trade it in. The first year of ownership you will loose the most amount of money but each sucessive year the car won't depreciate as much.

They'll probably give you like $26k for the car. Think about it, why would person go to a dealer and buy a car that has been titled with 3k miles for $29,995 when they could get a new one for a thousand more

zapata, you have 6 speed on the brain

the 350z is fresh, fast and RWD. the aftermarket support will put the cls to shame.

Yea u right...the 6 spd is sweet as hell tho..but my worries are the aftermarket support...CL-s dont have much...and 350z will definatly have...but then again i paid $10000 down on my cl...so i dont know..My Original plan is to pay this bird off in one year and get an M3 but the new pics for the 350z are tempting me...

thx for the replies guys...feel a lil better;-)

Purple, the 6 speed CL-S are a limited supply. You may be able to get a fair amount. Basically, a dealer may give you 26-28K. But, you had to pay tax, license, registration on the Cl-S... When you buy the Z, it will be the same deal. You should try to sell it privately... What color is it? Does it have NAV?

Regards,

-Ash

I thought i was the only one considering trading my 02 cl for a 350z...

That car really is tempting but ur talking atleast $4-5K down the drain to get it traded - the best bet would be to sell the CL urself (cos the dealers wont pay u shit for it) and then go buy the new car under a new term.

Its definetly a hassle but more financially sound

I'm holding back in getting the new Z cos of the INSURANCE and its only a 2 seater (i know the backseats arent much in coupes or sports cars but still...)

No problem!

I have a problem with trading in my cars every 6-12 months. I know how it feels. Now, however, my wife keeps a tight leash on me.

I have the same car, but it is an 01 auto, with 12000 miles. I really like the G-35 coupe.

The local paper is your best bet... pay the $50 or so for an ad, and see what kind of hits you get.

You just figured this out now? Nothing's changed since the 01 CL rolled out.
