ive seen a nicely modded new camry on the streets. yea, looks pretty good, kinda agressive with those muslce lines, and it is pretty fast, but its a camry. i dont think i'd mod my camry if i had one.

I guess, the V6 is a lot faster car then Toyota had anticipated... I think I read in Autoblog... their intention wasn't really to build a fast V6 sedan, but offered it for those that wanted something more than a 4 banger... supposedly C&D tested the 2007 in 5.8 seconds to 60 (not far behind the 5.6 seconds WRX but fell way behind in the 1/4 mile)

as for design goes... I think it's very bland... I think if I was going to rob a bank... I'd use a camry for a getaway car... because people tend to not remember bland looking cars BUT that's stock...

I have seen one or two with aftermarket wheels, and lowered... it did look a lot better

I'd buy a used one just for the acceleration (I'm really tired of driving slow cars). But no way I'd pay for a new one, I think the SE's can run into the 30K's.

I drove a '09 SE V6 earlier this year and it wasn't that bad at all. I think that the car would look very nice with some dark tints.

As for owning one, the steering feel is a bit on the numb side if I recall correctly. The interior is also hideous. The engine and transmission are damn good though, very responsive and the transmission has excellent shift quality.

Exactly why I wouldn't buy one new. It's just not worth the asking price. Interior design is well below that of the Accord on the aesthetics scale.

Love your sig!
I guess even an older Camry, Corolla or Civic would be faster, too.

OTOH, at least you have a car at 16! Oh, and your car has 4 gears- if you count reverse...

I'd love to get one, but my Accord is paid off. I actually like the design. The V6 is FAST.

if only i can have the camry se's exterior with the accord's interior.

with that said, i'd easily take the mazda6 over anything else in that class.

I do not like the styling of the current Camry much but in SE guise I do find it to be a looker. I do think that Toyota should have reserved the SE setup for the V6 only just for sake incorporating some "exclusivity" (of sorts).

As far as performance, I previously mentioned in the 'Racing and Competition' forum that my son (in his 05 Alti 3.5SE 5MT) did have a run in with a modded CV6 SE and he indicated that it gave him a serious run for the money. (Just as a point of reference, my son's Alti is only a good set of tires away from breaking into the upper 13s.) So the CV6 is a serious straightline performer.

I saw a black one, lowered with tinted windows all around, some decent looking 18" mesh wheels and some cans (not sure what though) Looked pretty alright. They don't look all that great or even ugly, but in the end they're just fast, boring cars. The thing I hate the most about how they look is that stupid bulge on the grill/hood (where the Toyota badge is)

Yeah you gotta look out for those SEs they have potential especially because its so light weighted...gives it a good advantage when picking up speed...bad advantage if you were to be in some freak accident...

I've seen some really decent looking ones. Not a huge fan of the front end, but the rest of it looks nice.

Not for me. Over here, Toyota has so many car models, that I want to throw up every time I see them. I mean, no styling, no get up an go (except for the V6 in this thread). All of their good cars here wree taken into the Lexus fold and command a huge premium.
