yea i know i still need a lot of practice.

Havent done too much. I wet sanded the whole car since there was a crappy clear coat that the other owner had put on it.

I changed all the fluids and spark plugs of course. Other than that, not much.

It needs new exhaust and a gas tank but the motor and electrical works great. The SLS is shot so i need to replace that this year. Minor rust which i will try to fix on my own within a few months. I also planning to replace all the bushings this year.

Besides that i would LOVE to swap a 5-speed into it and get some sport seats then rebuild the engine.

I like those beefy tires. Car is looking clean for something that's ~20 years old.

Very nice car for 4 grand.

I'd love to have a classic 5 or 6 series M-mobile, but wow, the prices on those are steep for a 15-20 year old car (and probably still has a bunch of expensive mechanicals to adress anyway.) Sometimes you can steal one though.

Depends where you are. Down south and in cali they can be found everywhere.

Midwest not that many.

But manual ones are very rare. But luckily they about $1200 to do a full auto-to-manual swap.

Dude, forget about rebuilding the motor. That car with a nice LSX motor out of a wrecked vette/camaro/firebird would be a beast in sheep's clothing. It looks great too, too bad BMW doesnt make cars like that anymore.

You say the same thing in every thread.

Not every car needs a LSx

It's just that it's an all aluminum, light motor that many people swap into older 3 series/rx7/300zx/ almost anything under the sun.
I was just sayin'
Plus it's cheap.

While i think the LSx are great motors, i think putting it into a euro is a sin.

Its kinda like buying a Japanese pickup truck. Seems WRONG!

Thanks but the pics make it look better than it really is. Its far from mint and needs a good amount of work to get there. I have a huge list of small things that need to get done. But wont happen anytime soon.

Looks nice! I've always loved the look of the 635's. Kind of a timeless classic that still looks as great today as it did years ago. Even today I find myself looking at it's clean and elegant lines. Are replacement parts generally expensive?

Depends where you look and what you need. Most of the parts are shared between the E28/E24 and even the E34 BMWs. So you have a wide range to choose from.

Hell you can buy the whole M30 engine for around $500 if you look around on ebay or BMW forums.

Body parts are hard to find though and can get somewhat expensive.
