Tom2 Selling His M3, WTF?

Check this out. Is this old news that was discussed over the weekend already?

http://www.acura-cl.com/ubb/Forum8/HTML/000218.html

Just saw this in the black market, what up Tom? How are you going to represent the M3 voice of reason without ACTUALLY having an m3?

That's right, I decided to do it.

I was gonna wait to see what happens with the M3 GT, but decided against it.

I've been on the list for quite a while now, and my number will soon be up

Alright there Tommy, much props to ya. Your current m3 only has 11k miles on it, wow, very low. Whats the new m3 gonna run you? 55?

That still bothers me. My M3 feels like it has more power down low than the new M3. But I have now spent enough time in the new M3 to get a good enough feel for the car, and it is growing on me. Besides, once the tach starts to climb, the high end power is waaaaay more than in my car. But I do wish they would have dialed in a bit more low end torque.

Also, I honestly feel that the E36 M3 can outhandle the E46 M3. The 46 just has a heavier feel to it.

I'd love to see one of the major mags do a handling contest between the two. A while back, Car and Driver picked the M3 as the best handling car at any price. I can see the article headline now-- "Can the new M3 dethrone the old handling king?" Now that would be an awesome magazine test. Graviil would love it!

jrod178,

If the M3 GT does in fact make it to the USA, it will most definitely be an 8 cylinder. BMW insists that they'll bring it here, but only time will tell for sure. If they do, I have no doubts that it will be a 12 second car without any mods. But it will probably lose a little of the handling prowess, due to the heavier engine upsetting the overall balance of the car.

Yeah but the E46 looks so bad ass. As far as torque is concerned..imagine getting a supercharger for that thing? Are they in the process of making a SC for the new M3?

I'm sure the Dinan engineers along with ESS engineers are cooking something in their evil pot.

Now when you say V8 power is it safe to assume that it will get the M5 engine. I used to have a 97 M3, great car! This M3 GT is really starting to spark my interest.
