You can tell that its not a GS by the standard side flares (GS's are more aggressive).

This is just a very hot 05 coupe.

GS........evil

You can probably get an 02 Maserati Coupe for around the same price you would get a new M3.

Also, it's pretty easy to get the G35C sideways......did you turn off the TCS?

I vote the G35C, but I'm biased. Get what makes you feel the best (and what she'll let you get away with)

Good luck and keep us posted.

02 Maserati's are garbage, pays to buy a newer model......04+.

Much improved quality and reliability.

The GM employee pricing has gotten the CTS-V's down to $46K new, so that's probably hurt thr resale on used ones...

I'm not exposed enough to Maseratis to be able to notice the subtle nuances. I mean, it DID have almost everything the GS does

Still feel like a loser though

The original one I posted basically looks like a GS, and you don't even have to get the carbon fiber rear lip spoiler on the GS.

Don't need to be an expert on Maseratis to appreciate them.

no way

ls6>ls2

the ls6 puts down more on the dyno even though they are rated the same at the crank

Wrong......same horsepower #'s, but the torque curve is > in the LS2. So basically, you have a higher modification ceiling with the 2006 LS2. If one is into track racing, the LS2 has a better oil uptake system that allows the motor to continue picking up oil during hard cornering.

Some people like having the status (so-called collector value) of the LS6, but that doesn't mean shit in the end.

The new 6.0L will always have the advantage over the old 5.7L........plain and simple. Did you really think GM would move backwards in this dept?

You can do better than that little boy

Am I missing something? Why did no one mention the Mustang GT or S281? It'll keep up with anything on that list, plus it's much cheaper out of the dealership than say, a G35c, S4, or M3.

And out of all your choices, I'd pick the M3. I'm partial to the S4 but you don't really need AWD in California.

If living in an apartment over a house for several years to save for a car qualifies one as a car guy than your right I guess I'm not a car guy.

Personally I don't think it does but whatever. I'm perfectly happy living in a house while driving a pretty nice car and gradually working towards my weekend toy.

If housing was affordable in Cali I'm almost sure you'd be doing the same thing.

Ummm....because the cars listed are really fun to drive and in their price range...

What other cars can you think of that are under $50,000 and that much fun to drive? Please post some suggestions if you're going to make that remark because I can't think of any.

Um, they didn't make a 454 Hemi, it was a 426 Hemi, the 454 was a BBChevy...

Also, I don't think the Challenger was around in 1977-1979, and if it was, it was a pile... the good ones were made from 1970-1973.

S281 is a joke. Saleen should be better represented as Supercharged, not a mustang GT with updaded interior and a body kit.
I'm saying this and I hate ford but admire the old S/C Saleen's.

Scott, you may want to re think the GTO. I mean yeah they may be lacking in the corners, but I'm sure with some modification, that can be changed. Besides, they are roomy to me (6'2) , and much more vaule packed than the M3, S4.
Just a thought

CLpower is on some of the porsche forums too, so I'm sure he's looked at 'em. I decided that I wanted a more "practical" daily driver, so I bought the CLS6 instead

Southern Cali is probably one of the best places to find one too...

This one from the boston area piqued my interest (95's won't have the CEL/SAI issue):

You're looking at it the wrong way.... It's an investment...

I bought my CLS for $30K, and it's probably only worth $20K now... lost 1/3 it's value in 2 1/2 years...

The 993 on the other hand has lost only 1/3 of it's value over the course of 9 years (original msrp of around 70K)!!

How's that for minimalizing depreciation

Oh, so I guess buying a 1953 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing for $200,000 is an even BIGGER MISTAKE?

Also to consider Scott: The Evo has typical Mitsubishi problems, says my friend who has the Rally red one I posted. (tranny, brakes, clutch, all I can remember)

Thats not bad in the sceme of things...

What about a 66/67 427 S/C Cobra, 1970/71 Hemi Cuda, 71 Hemi Cuda Convert ($1,000,000+), or any older Ferrari like the one in Ferris Beuler which is over 10 mil or so...

Well that's just because the 996s suck... Another case of "you get what you pay for"....

I'd buy a C5 vette before I bought one of the waterpumper porsches...

Aircooled is where it's at... and is why the 993's command higher prices then the 996's... We don't need no stinking radiators

Are you serious? When I drove the GTO, I felt like everything is too close to each other. It wasn't comfortable at all. That's one thing I didn't like about it.
