TLX SH-AWD on notice? Fusion Sport

The best sport sedan in the market at the moment for the money?? No doubt, the Dodge Charger....ton of curb appeal,, roomy, very impressive (tech, infotainment, handling, ride)
I do not own one...yet....but started looking for my new ride.

My wife happened. It was going Great until the wife came to look at it. She didnt like the Black/Brown leather interior, So now we are back to looking. Lots of red ones around here, but red is a no go for her.
They can make great power and impressive for heavy vehicles. My Buddy with his SHO would smoke all 4 of his 275s across the intersection with his Livernois tune, down pipes, exhaust.

I would have went for blue exterior if they offered it, but since it wasn't an option, black was next choice, then it would have been grey.
Yeah, I'm looking to add downpipes next when I get some spending money. lol

yah the new ones look really good but i would not call it a sport sedan, more of a 4 door muscle car (assuming it has the V8)

It is quite the car for the money and the road presence is impressive....fit and finish, usually a weak spot for Chrysler/Dodge is quite nice...

I went with the black/ brown interior, I thought it looked real nice and added contrast compared to the all black int. one I looked at.

Yea, i love the Black/Brown interior. The wife sat in a few more and now its growing on her. Yea, i wish the Sport was offered in a few other colors. I love black but swore to myself id never buy another one just because of the maint required to keep it looking good but that is the color the wife is set on. She saw the Tuxedo Black in the sunlight and fell in love with it. Still looking ![ugh](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/ugh.gif)

I think the 2016 model year changed to non-metallic, straight black.

We don't know who will cross-shop what, but what we're seeing here is a prime example of a manufacturer listening to its customers.
I'm sure Ford will sell plenty of these, and it will help sell even more less spec'd models. The Taurus is enormous, and this gives Ford fans another option for a 4 door cruiser with some power.
Every Acura fan on this site dedicated to the notion that their vehicle is the most reliable on the road needs a reality check. The competition grows fiercer every day and the domestics are proving they're up to the challenge.
I've owned 3 Acura's over the last 5 years. They make a great vehicle, but guess what, they're not alone

Eh I know people who do that, still is too much of a challenge to be practical, IMO. Plus I tend to have passengers often. They wouldn't enjoy the rear seat in one of those.
FWIW, the Ford I'm picking up tomorrow does 0-60 in approximately the same time as an EcoBoost 'Stang.

I drove the edge sport before buying the Jeep and it just didn't feel that fast. I'm sure it was but there was zero drama to the whole process.

That's because you didn't hit the NOS button.

The drama in a FCA vehicle is being able to climb a mountain in a compact SUV that gets 27mpg.

Pfff. My 2016 RDX Elite climbs mountains too, with it's best in class ground clearance. And gets me boat loads of bitches. (I pull the boat behind my 2016 RDX Elite, full of bitches, while climbing mountains)

I think Ford needed the Fusion Sport to properly compete with the Accord V6 and other V6 family sedans. The existing Fusion Titanium with its 2.0T and AWD is over 3700lb and only has 240hp. Most mags are only able to get 0-60mph in around 7 seconds. Unfortunately for Ford, an Accord 4-banger 6MT is faster than that, and a CVT Accord isn't that much slower. The Mazda 6 I4 and TLX I4 with way less power are just as fast as the 240hp Ford Fusion.
Here's a C/D Test:
Ford Fusion Titanium 2.0L EcoBoost AWD Test ? Review ? Car and Driver
0-60mph: 7.3s
1/4 mile: 15.7s@88mph
2013 Ford Fusion First Test - Motor Trend
0-60mph: 6.8s
1/4 mile: 15.1s@92mph
I won't blame you if you suspect whether the car really has 240hp...lol....those figures are worse than my 1G RDX at 4000lb with an ancient 5AT and laggy 2.3L non-DI 4-banger.
It remains to be seen whether the Fusion Sport would perform all that well. Granted, the same powertrain in the 4400lb Ford Edge seems quite potent as Car and Driver was able to get 0-60mph in 5.6s and 1/4 mile in 14.2@98mph. A 500-600lb lighter Fusion should save a few tenths off those numbers while trapping a bit faster. Still, the likes of Camry V6, Accord V6, and Altima V6, TLX V6 are trapping well over 100mph in the 1/4 mile. Can the reduced weight and drag of the Fusion Sport increase the trap speed by 4-5mph over the Edge 2.7TT? That's something I'd like to know.
Assuming the Fusion Sport will be fast, then one can also say the Fusion Sport is just as fast as the entry-level German sports sedans while being $10-$20k cheaper. I know, one would say people who want to buy a 340i wouldn't consider the Fusion Sport, right?
