Any word on the paint job?

 

the only one that can pass that mark is yumblaster.....and maybe sisafrizz

 

also to fix that deep of a scratch they would have to put some bondo, and then prime it, and then paint it.....for a scratch of that size your looking at $400 min.....but thats a guessimate, and i think its also being nice.....

PAINT JOB
it's still in the works but my dad is really having problems with his car. he hasnt had the time to take my TL to his friend's shop..

i will give u guys an updated picture next saturday after the band kiddos clean my car.

An easier route might be having a junker (or a lower key) car to take to douche bag events. Let them key a Civic SI all they like. Keep your lovely TL in nice shape.

Your dad's right, just get a paint job, and leave the insurance be.

It's a nice color, I wouldn't change it. You probably look more elegant in something classy (not flashy) like that gray.

basically the only resolution to the paint job thing, i am going to repaint in June 2008. SIGH, i am going to have a tainted TL for the meantime. I really can't afford to repaint everytime someone keys my car. High school kids are idiots sometimes & yeah I live in an area where it is a rarity that a 17 yr old would drive a TL. I will be a target once I get Night Rider restored to its prior beauty. I know I can go through insurance to get it fix but I am unsure of the deductible I have to pay.


OR, I paint my car now and park in a different area. Install cameras & a highly sensitive alarm. LOL

BTW guys, baby pictures don't count. Only I go to costco gets props for actually posting a trade.

If the key job went to the metal, you DO want to do some kind of repair/protection to prevent corrosion.

im sure a good body shop can just blend new paint/clear coat in, no need for an entire repaint, they can blend the 2 doors, front fender, and rear fender.

LOL. Yeah i basically finish the thread off. No real news as of yet, i am just going to be patient. thanks for the suggestions. I already have a body shop to take care of my car. They deal with a lot of cars that were damaged so I am going to a good place. I think they already did a touch up on my dad's car. So yeah I will posting the pictures in a separate thread.

awww u have the same car as me. i think maybe the year difference. I am an hour away from San Diego. I don't mind driving there but I haven't been there since i went there to go look at UCSD.. well that's actually La Jolla. I'll look into the car meets but your right, there is a lot of older guys.
