DAMNNNNNNN...I JUST GOT MY 2004 WDP TL AUTO 5 MONTHS AGO..AND I WAS JUST READING ALL THESE FORUMS AND NEVER POSTED ANYTHING...BUT AFTER I CAME THRU ALL THE FORUMS I SAW LOT ABOUT "HOW FAST IS THE TL" . I FINALLY PUT MY TL TO A TEST..YESTERDAY NIGHT WAS CABBAGE NIGHT SO ME AND MY FRIENDS WHO HAVE G35 COUPE AUTO AND 330CI AUTO AND 99 MUSTANG SVT MANUAL. FIRST WE WENT TO A PARKING LOT ABOUT 1/4 MILES LONG.WE LINE UP ALL 4 OF US.EVERYONE WAS SAYING THAT I WAS GONNA GET WHIP SPLASHES...I DID NOT CARE WHAT WOULD HAPPEN BECUASE I KNEW THEY WERE FASTER CARS.BUT GUESS WHAT ..DEAD STOP TO ABOUT 70MPH ..SVT CAME FIRST AND THE TL AND G35 CAME SAME LENGTH EXACALLY THAN 330CI BEHIND ME HALF CAR LENGTH. ALL 3 TIMES WAS SAME RESULTS..THAN WE WENT ON THE HIGHWAY ABOUT 60 CRUSING WE GET ON ALL 4 LANES SIDE BY SIDE RADARS ON.. ROUTE 80.NO CARS STRAIGHT AWAY FOR ABOUT 2 MILES..ALL FLOORS THE CAR..SVT TOOK OFF AFTER WE ALL FLOORED LIKE IT HAD ANOTHER GEAR.PROBABLY CUZ IT WAS MANUAL.THAN IT WAS THE 3 OF US STAYING HEAD TO HEAD DEAD EVEN WHEN I DIPED BACK ABOUT HALF HOOD LENGTH OF G35 AND THE 330CI WAS HALF HOOD LENGTH OF MY TL..AFTER THE RACE WE ALL MEET BACK IN THE PARKING LOT I KNOW THAT I DIDNT WIN.BUT EVERYONE WAS GIVING ME PROPS.THEY SAID DAMNNNNNNNNNN THATS FASTER THAN I THOUGHT ..I AM SOOOO HAPPY THAT NOW I KNOW I CAN KEEP UP WITH MY BOYS RIDES..I HTOUGHT I HAD A SLOWER CAR BUT I GUESS NOT..WAITING FOR THE NEW SUPERCHAGER TO COME OUT...

The outcome was as expected. You, the 330ci auto, and g35c auto are all about equal, with the g35c coming ahead. The mustang should have whooped all of you guys. And yes, if you can, don't type in all caps...it's a tad hard to read.

 

A SVT can smoke a BMW M3 easily... what was that 330ci doing there... lol

Congrats..... TL/Super. I agree with you about the Power of the TL, I just want to let you know that a Lexus 300 ?? got on my tail for a while. I decided to get away from him, so I step on the pedal for a while (not pushing) and I left the Lex behind. Then he came back againg. The road change from 2 lanes to 3 lanes. Now he is got me mad, just tail gate. I was expecting he past.

Well, I don't want to keep washing his car, so this time I hit the pedal and that was the end. I went about 20 to 30 to more than 40 cars away until I don't see it any more. Road 9A NY, radar on ... A lot Police on the road sometimes.

Good job, they have to know the power of the TL so we get some respect...

A little high school level grammar wouldn't hurt either. I also agree that racing a 530 or a 525 isn't a grand accomplishment. Those are two under-powered heavy luxury cars. The 545 would be a better match with the TL's horsepower/weight ratio. On a side note, I now know which car is going to eventually replace my TL. The next gen M5. Now THAT's a 4-door sedan that you simply can't mess with.
