Timeless Car Designs?

I usually hate it when I own a car, and then it's redesigned...I feel my car is outdated... however....there are cars out there with timeless designs.... what do you think is timeless and still looks good? Dont post any classic cars.... Maybe '85+

Me, personally I love the Bimmer 8 series still....and the volvo C70 ('98/'97 model).

2nd gen Acura Legend, coupe and sedan.

And the current gen ES330, which I think is one of the most beautiful designs on any modern car.

bmw e38 7 , but mabee just because it's successor was such a let down to me.

The buick GNx i stll look at and think it looks great, but mabee i'm just a nut.

Some cars just havn't changed enough to look outdated, Jag XJ for one, It's been styled in the same theme since Before I was born.

Absolute on the E39 M5...

I'd also put in votes for the Acura NSX, Toyota Supra, all Ferraris, Lamborghinis...

And last but not least, the Aston Martin DB9.

When the accord sedans looked like this, for some reason they still don't look old, they aren't but they also look like they will hold up better then the current generation. Its very plain but for some reason it works.

Here's a new one to the list...I've always thought the Stealth/3000GT was an awesome design that still looks good today, 10-15 years later!

Hmmm...I guess this gen of Accord is "timeless" because it's so boring, it doesn't offend enough to be "dated". The new Accord offends enough people that it won't be considered "timeless". I think the 97 Accord looks better than the 98. IMHO.

I'd agree with this as well. I stand outside during my smoke breaks and just stare at all of the economy cars in the parking lot, taking in all of their details. After awhile of that you sort of come to appreciate the simplicity and cleaness of some designs. Second to last gen Camry is a good example.

1990-1996 Nissan 300ZX - i think that this is THE most timeless style when considering cars from the last 2 decades. I appreciate the cars lines every time i see it.

1992-1996 Honda Prelude

1990-2005 NSX

1998-present Audi TT

1987+ Pontiac Fiero - the "newer" bodystyle

1997-2000 Mitsu Eclipse - 1997 is when they did the smoked headlights.

Ferrari 512TR

Mini - i know the new one has been out for only a few years but I seriously think this will be timeless.

And of course, it goes without sayin, my personal favorite...

1st gen 3.2TL

performance def went to the 97+ models. But come one, those rectangle headlights?

The 92-96 models look like a bullet, pure beauty.

Those rectangular headlights were the perfect evolution to the 3rd gen flip ups.

The 92-96 doesnt fit ANYWHERE in a natural evolution of aesthetics...the 3rd > 5th gen looks more like a natural progress.

actually the 4th gen preludes are a tad quicker than the 5th gen, since the 5th gens are heavier. However, the 5th gens looks great. Of course, I'm a TAD biased

Can't forget the Type 911 either. From 1963 thru 1989 [3]. The Type 964 and Type 993 that followed, while still aircooled, were new platforms, hence the internal designation of 964 and 993 instead of 911, but they did retain some of the lines of the original.

I'd mention the VW MicroBus (the original minivan) too, but I don't want to sound like a hippie
