Ticket for no front plate

I got pulled over for tint and no front plate. The tint he gave me a warning, I honestly don't think it's illegal but then again NY might not allow any tint up front. As far as the front plate, it kills looks and I have gotten pulled over twice and they haven't mentioned it being a problem. I have driven 4 yrs without one and this is the first time I was pulled over for it. It will probably be knocked down to a parking ticket, but is there any way to get out of this?

I was thinking of putting the plate on and taking a picture of it and showing the judge...not sure if it will do anything but I think it is worth a try. Same thing happened with my girlfriend, she was pulled over for a headlight that was out and she just had to fix it and take it in within 48 hours.

He will think you are a lying. It might get knocked down. WHo knows.

What I know is, that you got a ticket because something about your car is illegal. You made the choice, don't bitch about it.

Flame on.....

You are doing something illegal, you get caught, you get ticket. Either pay it and stop breaking the law, or get used to getting pulled over for it.

It is illegal in NY not to have a front plate.

And I believe for a infraction like that you need to have written proof that it was taken care of.

You can then take it off again, and risk another ticket.

And tint on the front windows is illegal as well, just most cops don't care as long as they can see in the car.

Correct.

The reason you gf probably got away with just fixing her head light is because the head light can be viewed as a part that burned out from use. You delibrately took off your front plate. It didn't just fall off or was stolen (do not use those as excuses to cops). You should have known it was illegal, and you did it anyways. That's how they will view it.

If you don't want to use a front plate because it "kills looks" then don't put on a front plate BUT AT LEAST ACCEPT ANY CONSEQUENCES (READ: TICKETS) THAT MAY COME OF IT.

If you don't want to risk a ticket for that infraction, then USE A FRONT PLATE.

Your choice, but deal with the consequences.

You're fighting a losing cause, if it's that important for the looks, move to Alabama, no front plates there.

Or just paint the holder to match the body...

haha I love the assholes...I'm not bitching, I'm just asking if there is anything to do, in my area of NY they are not strict about it, hence why I haven't been pulled over, it's one of those things that they can pull you over for to make a quick buck but usually don't, same with "light" tint.

Yeah -- there's something you can do:

Pay the fine.

Consider it your 'free pass' for not having a plate the past four years.

What are you trying to get out of, btw? Please don't say it's less than $100.

I got a front plate ticket. About 12 hours before someone backed into me and fucked up my license plate holder. Normally I'd accept a ticket for not having one, but I honestly couldn't keep the plate on and the dealer was closed. I'm hoping that is a good enough reason.

Not sure about NY, but it's $60 in MD.

Don't be a raging corky and we wont need to be assholes.

You broke the law, you did it willingly, shut the fuck up and pay the fine.

"is there anything I can do to get of it"...yeah, go fuck yourself.

How cute, the baby can use curse words to express himself BTW you have a striking resemblance to the priest in Ravenholm (HL2) :rolf:

I had to google Ravenholm to even know what the hell you were talking about. You try and insult me and then go on to use some video game reference?

Not worth starting another thread over - ticket was dismissed though they wouldn't admit I was right. I'll take it though, saved me 100 bucks.

Your area?!?! Well in the rest of New York not having a front plate and your front window tinted is serious, considering all the police chases, hit and runs and criminals running around they need two chances to get your plate number and to see who is driving the vehicle.

You have two options, either you can get a front plate and stop getting tickets or move to Pennsylvania where you don't need a front plate and they don't care about tint.
