NSX is a good choice. Join NSXPRIME.COM, I am a member there and the community is as great as acurazine, which is hard to come by. In the prospective buyer section, create a new thread, introduce yourself and tell them what you are looking for. a NA2 NSX will cost a bit of money, more than the budget of 55K for a nice, well maintained one. A NA1 will cost less, but be a bit outdated. Also in the prospective buyers thread, you can post the VIN of the NSX you are looking at and some of the gurus might be able to dig up some info on it like if it was salvaged and such. VanceHu on the site is awesome and very knowledgeable.

The NSX is a reliable car and sounds intoxicatiating at 8K RPMS, esp. with a JCTG style Exhaust, kinda like ITB's in the car. Well good luck on the search!

PS: If you want a faster NSX, Science of Speed motor works plus a love-fab turbo would get you into the 750 WHP range with proper tuning, and with some more upgrades, you might be able to near 800+

I liked the flip ups.

+1 for the pop up headlights.

I prefer a white NA1. Flip-up headlights are sexy.

Synth, I see that you did everything like I said before I said it... Whoops. Did you want any specific color combo? Mods? Motor (NA1 or NA2, 4, 5 or 6 speed) also did you want any specifics such as Type R parts or such?

Lightly modify?!!? Then how are you gonna beat this guys? =)

With all the work you put into your Z, I highly doubt that NSX will be anything but stock one year later!

Color choices:

-Long Beach Blue Pearl
-Imola Orange Pearl
-Spa Yellow/Rio Yellow Pearl,
-Grand Prix White
-Silverstone Metallic
-Berlina Black

I really don't care for interior colors, I can compromise. I really need to NOT get silverstone as I already have 3 cars in that color range... need to get something different. LBBP is probably my favorite.

Must be 02+ and 6 speed. I really don't need any type R parts for now. I will do cosmetic mods/suspension/and keep it NA. I highly doubt I will go FI with this car.

IMO 350hp - 400hp is good enough for the NSX and I'm sure you can obtain that figure even if you go with NA.

LONG BEACH BLUE PEARL!!!

that color is fucking neck breaking. I remember when I saw my first Long beach blue pearl NSX cruise by me, I literally stared until it drove off into the sunset.

^ As much as I love blue... I may potentially get a good deal on an '03 with around 30k miles for around 55k. Additionally, they may take my Z for what I want for it (35k). The thing is, I'm still not sure if I really want yellow.... I love the blue... but it will be difficult finding one in my price range, etc. Yellow is growing on me... but not my first choice....

^^that is one clean NSX but that price is outrageous. I guess I'm not ready to spend $70k on Acura yet.

I can't believe that you are going to sell your Z already. It true was one of the cleanest Z I ever seen, but I know how you feel. You feel like you already done everything to that Z so getting little bored, I guess? Anyway, good luck finding the NSX you are looking for.

p.s. btw, are you korean? I swear someone said you were korean but when I saw your website your name was...

One of the FactorX guys posted this on another forum ...I hope it's not a repost here. Serious fast car now turbocharged, great driver.

Here's the in-car footage from the Super Street Super Lap Battle in the Factor X FX750 Turbo NSX to finish 2nd in Unlimited RWD -being its second time on A track EVER!

Love the NSX as is, the only thing I would really do is tint, 18/19 wheel combo, coilovers, and a different rear diffuser (such as the new downforce one). Anyways, I know there are FASTER cars for the money, but it's really not that much important to me... I can comptech it down the road, but I think I would like to keep it relatvely stock (so I say) as these are getting rarer by the day.... anyone own an NSX here? I would be all honda again if I find the right NSX.
I don't own one, but I've driven both stock (auto and manual) as well as a Comptech modified (everything they make) + some other performance goodies.

Not that I need to say it, but don't get an automatic. The supercharger is well worth it, it basically eliminates the main complaints of the NSX, not enough HP and no torque off the line.

Even bone stock, the NSX is a dream car.

I'm sure you can afford to purchase the car, but have you thought about insurance? I think I vaguely recall my wife (former claims adjuster) mentioning something about the NSX being like $9k to insure full time. It could've been another exotic car.... maybe a Ferrari of some sort.

My boss' brother had a NSX and my boss told me that his brother would call his insurance agent to insure the car just on days he feels like driving because it was so damn expensive to insure the vehicle full time.

Never the less, I'm sure NSX insurance is no joke since it's rare and considered an exotic sports car.

It might be a good idea to check insurance prior to purchase??

I would imagine repair costs are extremely high being an all aluminum body.

I havent done a personal search, however, insurance costs are not that bad based on what I have read on nsx prime. I will however, get a quote from my insurance later today... I pay right now $105/month for an '03 Z, '05 RL, and '01 Civic.

Wow, that's pretty cheap. I suppose Chicago has cheap insurance. Unless you have really ghetto liability limits.

I'm in S. CA and I carry 100/300/100 liability with 100/300 UM plus other little stuff and I pay annual premium of $2,300 for an 06 fx35, 07 mazda 3 hatch, and 01 honda accord.

Insurance for NSX might only be $4500 in Chicago based on the price comparison
