Thinking about getting a bike..

It would be my first time riding. Do you guys think a 250 would be to small for me? I'm looking at a 2000 ninja 250 or a 1996 ninja 500ex. I am trying to get something for this winter so that i can practice and be good by spring/summer.

Any info and advice would be greatly appreciated.

You'll be ok with a 500. I think a 250 would be a little too small...but that's my opinion. Either way, I think whatever comes your way for a good price is what you should get. I don't think the 250 and 500 would be a huge difference. Just be cautious of the throttle and you'll be ok

the 96 500 would probably be a good starter bike. It's pretty old so you should be able to get it for cheap and sell it again for about the same price. Also the 500s have enough power to be fun for a beginner, but not too much to get you in trouble.

stick with ninja500.... I went to India and started with 125cc and then moved up to 350cc and my first street bike here was v-twin 650cc. 8 thousand miles in 6 months and i'm doing fine so far.

good luck... and you'll be fine, take your time learning on 500 and then make your decision on moving to 600, don't try to jump straight to 1000cc from 500.
